Later, it was determined that her blood alcohol level — which was elevated because of the drinks the employer had served at the work event — was partly to blame for the incident. Therefore, she received all the workers’ compensation she needed for recovery. Still, we’d advise any office employees to avoid riding escalator rails from now on.
