NONDUDUZO NGCONGO DURBAN is gearing up for the R5 million record stake at the Hollywoodbets Durban July horseracing event taking place on 2 July at the Greyville Racecourse. The event injects over R300 million into the City’s economy and creates job and other opportunities in related value chains. There will be a variety of marquees including the Glenlivet Jazztown, Boomtown, Afrotainment, Pegasus Lounge, and many more. Fashion is another important part of the July experience. As a precursor to the Durban July, there will be a preview showcase for industry role players and potential buyers. SIPHELELE BUTHELEZI THE City is ready to host the 2022 COSAFA Cup in July. The tournament will be staged from 5 to 17 July at the City’s Princess Magogo and King Zwelithini sta- dia while the finale will be held at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. These games are being held as part of the provincial government and eThekwini Municipality’s three-year partnership with COSAFA. Group A of the COSA- FA Cup includes Angola, Comoros, Seychelles, and Botswana while group B has Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, and Eswatini. The quarterfi- nals will see Madagascar vs Namibia and Zambia vs the winner from group A, South nity. The programme will expose them to technical skills, business develop- ment, market access, and networking opportunities.
