FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS (FP&A)
Matthew Pentney: I joined Valent in 2018 and a lot has changed in this short time. Day to day, I really enjoy meeting the teams to review operating expense details. Collate line item by line item to understand actuals and leverage for better forecasting; TSRs; Canada AG Financials review and VNA Financials. Always love the questions on cost center choices from anyone. Biking to work: both to the previous Walnut Creek office and now to San Ramon (NAIC). Outside of work: leveraging technology to find the best route (and price) to complete home electrification. The goal is to efficiently use every watt generated from installed solar. Favorite superhero: Obi Wan Kenobi. He always uses “the force” for good.

Cory Mew: Hello, I’m the Marketing Programs Finance Manager and I’ve been with Valent since January 2023. Some of my responsibilities include managing Marketing Programs accruals and payments, by Program Category, Distributor and SKU, Bonus Calculator online tool and model, Performance Net Margin Analysis by Distributor and SKU and Sales analysis support. When I’m not crunching numbers, I’m jet-setting with my family to amazing places like Hawaii, Japan, Korea, Las Vegas, and Puerto Rico. My weekends? They’re a whirlwind of soccer matches, cheering on my two young champs, ages 11 and 8, as they rule the field for San Ramon FC! Favorite superhero: The Man of Steel himself—Superman! He’s all about hope and inspiration, plus who wouldn’t want to take to the skies without a plane? Up, up, and away! Outside of work, I like mechanics and how things work. I currently own a 1973 Mustang Mach 1 (has been in the family since originally purchased by my father) for which I helped rebuild the engine. A 351 Windsor V8 with over 300hps. Favorite superhero: Being the tech junkie that I am, I would have to opt for Ironman. Not necessarily for his leadership skills (or lack thereof), but more so for his ability to innovate and create better technological solutions for mankind. Eduardo Gonzalez: Hello, I’m the Director of Finance at Valent USA and Valent North America. In my role, I oversee operational expenditure management and provide sales analysis support, as well as finance and reconciliation for our marketing programs. With over 20 years of experience in operations finance and FP&A, I've had the privilege of working with leading companies like General Electric, Honeywell, Stanley Black & Decker, and Tesla, and most recently, Central Coast Agriculture in Southern California. I thrive on collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement optimization solutions and streamline processes. Currently, I am focused on the IT Americas simplification project, working closely with both Valent North America and SCLA in Brazil. Always looking forward to connecting with you and exploring potential opportunities for collaboration.
