tention of the children who are mo tionless (their minds may be at a circus). Don’t think a wiggler or giggler is getting nothing from the lesson. Never use sarcasm to dis cipline. Don’t give up. It takes time and earnest prayer to solve dis cipline problems. Transportation Your transportation committee must work closely with the people responsible for your p u b l i c i t y . Here’s how one group in Elmer, N.J. went after their combined Methodist-Baptist-Presbyterian con stituency. First they sent out a flyer (paper 8^2” x 11” folded in quarters). On the front was an invitation to their C o m m u n i t y VBS, the location, dates, names of director, transpor tation chairman and general secre tary. On the back was information concerning the united VBS and a statement of their purpose: that “ each one will learn more about Jesus, our Saviour, and come to love Him more.” Then followed an in vitation to the closing program— a red letter date on everyone’s cal endar before school even started! On the inside center spread the flyer had a questionnaire providing for each prospective student’s name, age, grade, etc. Other questions in cluded the location of the pupil’s neighborhood, how he came to school the year before, if he came, and whether there was anyone in his family that could volunteer to drive full-time, part-time or not at all. Then, after all pupils were pre registered, the transportation com mittee went after them! Here’s what their general secretary, Mrs. Nat alie Ware, wrote: “ We regard our corps of 50 drivers as a very im portant part of our Community VBS, because without them we’d have had only a dozen or so pupils. Our transportation chairman dia grammed the church grounds and assigned a definite spot and num ber for each car. Mimeographed copies of the diagram were given to each driver; all loading and un loading of children were done at the assigned spots. Two men and a Safety Patrol high school boy were
