you did, I will. But what is even more important, is for you to ask God to forgive you, because He too has been very good to you.” Casey tried to say something, but choked up as more tears came run ning down his cheeks. His father spoke up. “ You’ll be glad to hear,” he said, as tears filled his eyes too, and a smile spread over his face, “ that he has already done that. God does work in a wonderful way to answer a father’s and a mother’s prayer -f^ and yours too.” Then he was still for a moment, trying to keep back tears of happiness. Fin ally he went on to say, “ There’s a preacher in Laramie who visits the jail regularly to talk to the prison ers. He took a special interest in Casey and on close questioning, he broke down and told him every thing as it really happened: how he lied to you and stole from you after you had been so good to him, and even after you tried to get him to accept Christ as his Saviour. Then he told the preacher he was ready to accept Him, so they knelt right there in the cell and Casey asked God to forgive him. Then he accept ed Christ as his Saviour and prom ised to live for Him.” I grabbed Casey and gave him a big hug, “ That’s great. I’m real glad, and you can be sure I’ll be praying for you,” I said. Even the so-called hard-boiled Sheriff had signs of tears in his eyes as he watched the unusual goings on in his office. Because Casey was a minor and n e i t h e r W i n d y n o r I p r e s s e d charges against him, he was re leased by the Judge, on the condi tion he went home and behaved himself. W indy got his gun back, the liv ery bam owner at Coyote Springs got his money back, I got Deerfoot and my money back, and Casey’s father got his son back. So it all came out all right. But what a lot of trouble was caused b e c a u s e Casey failed to be' grateful in the first place. I never saw him again, hut I did remember to pray for him, just as I will pray for all of you until we meet again for our next storytime. And you pray for me too. Bye for now, and let’s all try to be grateful by being good, real good, now and always. END.
