there is an “ a” and the word is changed to “Thank.” This is what happened in the life of David. He thought it was so important to thank God that he appointed a choir to sing the praises of God. “And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister be fore the ark of the L ord , and to re cord, and to thank and praise the L ord God of Israel” (1 Chron. 16:4). It is interesting to notice some of the things for which David had the choir praise the Lord. We read, “ Give thanks unto the L ord , call upon his name, make known his deeds among th e p e o p l e . Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works. Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them re joice that seek the L ord ” ( w . 8 -1 0 ). This psalm of thanksgiving was closed by “ Blessed be the L ord God of Israel for ever and ever. And all the people said, Amen, and praised the L ord ” (1 Chron. 16:36). Is it any wonder that David was the greatest of Israel’s kings, when we see how he appointed a choir to sing God’s praises soon after he be came king? It is pleasing to God to day when His people give thanks to Him and praise Him.
