Park District of Forest Park Stay Close, Go Far
Dear Forest Park Residents, Summer is winding down and it was another exciting one here at the park! Over the last three months we recruited, hired, and trained almost 200 seasonal staff to be the best versions of themselves. They made this a great place to be all summer! We look forward to them heading back to school with new life skills they took away from the Park District work environment, and we hope to see them next summer. Looking ahead to fall, we’re excited about our upcoming special events! We kicked off the first Fall Fest in 2021. Since then, it has grown to over 30 local vendors showcasing different affiliates, eateries, and popular attractions here in Forest Park. We cannot wait for families and friends to join us on the front lawn enjoying great music, great food, and great neighbors! Don’t forget to register for our Family Camp Out! This is a great event sleeping under the stars after an evening filled with fun activities at the park. This summer, we maxed out with over 120 campers enjoying their summer with us! Campers enjoyed fun activities, including heading to the pool every day, as well as going on exciting field trips every week. When school begins, we are safe place for your child to go after school. Campers take time for homework, enjoy snack time, and play all around the park to burn some energy before heading home for family time. If you are interested in After School Fun Camp, see page 21. As the weather changes, remember to purchase your Roos Membership. We offer memberships for all ages. Try our new Jr. Membership or Jr. Day Pass. This is an excellent opportunity for our independent youth to enjoy gym time after school. Once again, we continue to offer new and exciting programs for all ages from Arts & Crafts to Adult Fitness. Several of our fitness classes are now included in your Roos membership! This fall, we are working on several Aquatic Center repairs. We’re also looking to improve some of our aging facilities at the main campus. Look for notices and more information on these improvements on our social media and website. Speaking of website, look forward to our website redesign. This will give users more of an opportunity to see important updates and new programming. The Park District provides health and wellness opportunities to all our residents, an essential need! We look forward to seeing you at the PDoFP, where every day is a walk in the park!
