Leonardo da Vinci in the Knights Halls, the experience kicks off!

Adventure in Old Akko (Acre)

The Leonardo da Vinci’s exhibition presents an extraordinary insight into the life and workings of the incredibly talented Italian Renaissance Master of Arts and science and allows you to discover the enormous scope of his interests. All exhibits were designed and produced in-house, and were constructed from wood and metals, and set on granite bases. These exhibits demonstrate solutions derived by Leonardo almost 500 years ago. Some of them can be touched, tried and tested by visitors of all ages and backgrounds.

We invite you to see, feel and take a part in exploring the various machines, inventions and designs of an immensely talented man, who conceived ideas vastly ahead of his own time. Join us in an unforgettable experience, displaying Leonardo da Vinci’s genius in a spectacular exhibition. All this in a fascinating and interactive atmosphere suitable for the whole family. The exhibition will be launched towards Passover (Pessah) in the Knights Halls in Old Akko.

In 1798 Napoleon and his army embarked on a campaign of conquest throughout the Middle East. As a great commander and strategist, Napoleon advanced rapidly and it seemed to be no one in the area to stop his army, only the city of Akko remained on its way to the conquest of the entire Middle East. Will the city succeed in stopping Napoleon? Here begins the new experience developed by the Old Akko Development Company in collaboration with the Virtual Reality Company MTR. It is an exciting and action-packed interactive AR experience. The experience will take place in the moat area of Old Akko and will reveal to the world an impressive tunnel from the days of the Turks while self- navigating and discovering the space around.

Participants will meet the colorful figures who influenced the course of the battle, such as the Minister of Finance of Akko, an admiral of the British Navy, a French artillery officer and sworn enemy of Napoleon, and more interesting characters from the period, with whom they will conduct a cooperation and negotiation dialogue on the way to saving the city! What is more exciting than combining history and a startup that connects the past to the present with advanced technologies and fun? Break Napoleon’s siege! Join us at the Akko stand in the Ministry of Tourism pavilion.

Audio Game for Children in the Knights Halls

“Saving Havatzelet” (Lily) is an interactive audio game that takes children and families on a journey within the Knights Halls in Akko. Children learn about the history of Hospitallers knights, monks, and the local residents of Akko while they look for clues, solve riddles, play games and laugh along the way. The audio guide provides a fun way to explore the Knights Halls for families as the children move from place to place and

try to save the kidnapped princess Havatzelet. At the end of the game, they are invited to a Middle Ages ‘Selfie Booth’. The game was designed by Yuval Malchi, host and producer of podcasts and audio guides for families in Israel. Yuval created the podcast History for Kids, Israel’s public broadcast corporation which is being made into a television show.
