JOB DESCRIPTION
The Business Intelligence Manager will report directly to the Head of Business Intelligence and work with the Business Analyst and Data Visualisation Analyst. Reporting Line
• Produce clear strategic and operational recommendations and ensure full support and input from the widest possible range of stakeholders within the University. • Working closely with members of the Business Intelligence team to help present content including reports, briefs, commentary and visual data. • Encouraging development of the Business Intelligence team and individual members – and responsible for the overall people management of colleagues who report to this role.

In addition to the responsibilities listed above, the job holder may be required to perform other duties as assigned by members of the Strategy and Planning Team from time to time. The job holder has a duty to take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of other persons with whom they come into contact at work. The job holder also has a duty to co-operate with the University in complying with any statutory duty or requirement concerning health and safety at work. In particular, they must familiarise themselves with the Health and Safety Policy and its safety and fire procedures. Requirements: • Experience in the Higher Education sector and with HESA / HEIDIPLUS / UCAS /Office for Students data.
• Experience in Insight, Business Intelligence, Strategy and Planning.
• Experience of working with other team members.
• User experience of Tableau and/or Power BI, Excel and Powerpoint.
• Excellent analytical and maths skills.
• Stakeholder management skills.
• Communication skills, both written and oral.
• Critical thinking: able to look at numbers, trends, and data and come to new conclusions based on the findings.
