The Scofield Correspondence Bible School A Word About Teaching Things by Correspondence There can be no doubt that the method of teaching by correspondence has been applied to subjects to which it is not suited. Some subjects, in their very nature, demand oral teaching. Abstruse, complicated, and es pecially abstract, propositions: require the presence, enthusiasm, magne tism, of a living personality. The breakdown of the correspondence method when thus Misapplied whas led to a certain measure of suspicion of the method itself. But no one would think of discrediting the telephone because it won’t carry a ton of coal, or an automobile because it won’t climb a tree. Certain subjects cannot be successfully taught by corespondence ; some subjects are better taught by correspondence than by any other method: At the head of these, Dr. Scofield says, stands thè Bible. One of the five greatest American Universities has nearly three hun dred correspondence courses! Advantages of the Scofield System 1. You may study the whole Bible thoroughly and yet go on with your daily home or business duties. Your teacher—the METHOD—is al ways patiently waiting for you. 2. Your teacher—the METHOD—shows you the analysis of every Book of the Bible; points out the central theme of every book; helps you at all the hard places,; and is àlways ready to turii back, if you have not fully grasped any truth. 3. Your teacher—the METHOD-—when you two have gone through the whole Bible together, takes up with you all the great themes and words of the Bible, teaches you what they are, and where they are. The greatest treasury of spiritual themes for the teacher and preacher is that third volpine of the Scofield Course. 4. When you and yòur teacher—the METHOD—cannot get things clearly, you write to us and we do our best to set you straight. You can write again—and'again—till you do understand.
