CHIROPRACTIC WISDOM MEETS MODERN COMFORT The Synergy of Spinal Adjustments and Massage Chairs
I have always been drawn to natural health practices and finding ways to treat pain without medications or abrasive procedures. Before I discovered all the benefits of massage chairs, I worked as a chiropractor for nearly 20 years, and in that time, I learned so much about how pain tells us something is amiss in our bodies. Chiropractic care taught me that addressing the root causes of pain through spinal adjustments and holistic treatments could bring profound relief and healing to people. Now, as a massage chair specialist, I see a deep connection between these two practices. Just as chiropractic adjustments target misalignments and relieve nerve pressure, massage chairs also offer targeted relief and relaxation. I’ve seen these two holistic approaches to well-being change lives for the better. October is National Chiropractic Health Month, and I wanted to share how chiropractic care and massage chair technology can complement each other in improving a person’s quality of life. I first became interested in chiropractic work when I lived in Central California. I had gotten to know a couple of brothers who were highly respected chiropractors in the area. I was curious about what they did, and as they explained this practice’s central philosophy and holistic approach, it was the perfect fit for me. In chiropractic college, they hammered in a lot of information about anatomy and the physiological functions of the organs. I was just amazed. “How does all this work together in concert?” You don’t always think about what’s happening inside your body, and I gained a greater appreciation for the body’s power to heal pretty early on. I also learned a great deal about the way pain alerts us to deeper issues and how often we just block or mask those symptoms. If you have a headache and are under stress, some muscle work on the neck or chiropractic adjustments can help move those bones and loosen things up. That will alleviate your headache. It’s far more common to reach for ibuprofen or another over-the-counter to mask the pain, but that doesn’t address the underlying problem causing the symptoms.
Chiropractors address pain like headaches or sore backs through the musculoskeletal system — we don’t prescribe drugs. The basic idea is to move the bones in the spine to relax the muscles, release nerve pain, and ultimately eliminate pain. It can also focus on stretching and strengthening exercises. I discovered the similarities between chiropractic work and massage chairs by accident. When I got my first massage chair in my clinic, I had planned to have clients sit in it before their treatment to help them relax. The chair massaged muscles on the back and glutes, and people responded. The chair actually relieved some of my patient’s pain complaints. As a chiropractor, I found it rewarding to help people through pain instead of resorting to more serious treatments or medication. Thanks to massage chairs, I have seen the same joy in helping people live healthier lives. With their advanced technology, these chairs can simulate many of the techniques I used as a chiropractor, offering deep tissue massages, spinal stretching, and even heat therapy. Massage chairs can be powerful tools in managing pain, reducing stress, and promoting overall health. I never imagined having these benefits at home, at any time, during my chiropractic years. It’s like having a personal therapist ready to relieve tension and discomfort whenever needed. October’s National Chiropractic Health Month is a reminder of how vital it is to address pain holistically. Whether through chiropractic care, massage therapy, or a combination, the goal is to support the body’s natural ability
to heal. I’m proud to have been a part of both worlds — chiropractic and massage chair therapy — and to continue helping people find comfort and relief in a natural, non-invasive way. —Dr. Alan Weidner

PROTECT YOUR Massage chairs can bring a touch of comfort and relaxation to your business. But whether you’re a salon with hundreds of clients using these chairs each week or a small company with just a few employees, the wear and tear of chairs in commercial settings is much higher than in the home. From the impressive strength of our thigh bones to the tiny marvels of the inner ear, your bones are the unsung heroes of your body. So, rest your bones in a comfy chair because we are about to dig up some of the most shocking skeletal secrets. BABIES HAVE MORE BONES THAN ADULTS. Although babies are tiny, their bodies have many bones in a pudgy, little package. Human babies have about 300 bones compared to an adult’s 206. Many extra bones are entirely or partly made of cartilage, allowing the baby to stay flexible in the womb. Over time,
companies limit the warranty window on chairs used for commercial purposes, so it’s essential to understand the coverage available to your business. WHERE’S THE WARRANTY? Understanding a company’s warranty policy specifically for chairs in
commercial settings can be challenging, especially with off-brand chairs. Look for the full warranty details for each model you are interested in. Remember that a “two-year warranty” doesn’t tell you if that applies to commercial

TESTIMONIALS
“Without a doubt, Massage Chair Relief offers championship quality in product options and selection as well as education and service, both in advance of a sale and long after the deal has closed. We purchased a Luraco chair after watching the informative online videos by Dr. Alan Weidner which led us to visit the factory in Arlington, TX. The staff was very helpful and their pride in workmanship was quite evident. Their words of recommendation for Massage Chair Relief were sincere and convinced us that we were making the right choice in selecting a dealer that would be there when needed. Three years after our purchase we had need of service and reached out to Dr. Weidner’s team for assistance. The response was immediate and dedicated to the solution. Working along with the manufacturer and the MCR network of technicians, our chair is once again in pristine condition and providing excellent support. Happy campers, we are!” —Gary
THE FUNNY BONE IS A NERVE.
Have you ever hit your funny bone? Well, you are not hitting a bone at all. This area on the body is part of the ulnar nerve, which goes from your neck to your hand. Bone, muscle, and fat typically protect nerves, but a small portion of this nerve on the back of your elbow is more exposed. So, when you hit your funny bone, named for its location near the humerus bone (a homophone of “humorous”), you’re really bumping into the ulnar nerve. So, now that you’ve “boned up” on the most fascinating fossil facts, give your skeleton a little nod for the incredible things it does to support you and keep you moving!

Q: What are the benefits of using a heated massage chair? A: A heated massage chair or setting has a wealth of benefits for your body. Heat can loosen tight or sore muscles, break down rigidity, release lactic acid buildup, and improve blood circulation. The more relaxed your muscles are, the more effective the massage will be. It can also enhance your flexibility, leading to better posture. Some studies have even found that a session in a heated massage chair can help drainage in lymph nodes and improve digestion. A heated chair also has calming, relaxing effects and can help you sleep better. Q: How do I use a heated massage chair?

At Massage Chair Relief, we offer 1–2 years of labor coverage for massage chairs in commercial settings, depending on the chair’s usage. Our team is here to help you choose the right chair and coverage if you need guidance.
TAKE A
BREAK
A: Many massage chairs today feature heat therapy options. The heating elements are located inside the chair in areas where heat is beneficial, like the lower back and seat. Activating the heat setting is as simple as pushing a button, and you can choose to do so whenever you want. Some seats feature a detachable heating mat that can extend the reach of the heat to the torso and abdomen. Some chairs let you heat the calves, hands, or feet. Q: Are there any reasons I should avoid heated sessions? A: You don’t need heat for an effective massage chair session, but using these thermal settings isn’t dangerous. If your joints or muscles are inflamed, you should opt for a cooling function instead of heat. As always, listen to your body. If a heat setting feels uncomfortable or too warm, try adjusting the temperature or turning it off. Q: What should I look for when purchasing a heated massage chair? A: You have many options for massage chair models with heated features. Focus on the overall experience and benefits you hope to achieve with your new chair. Some people seek a heated chair because they are athletes and want to incorporate heated sessions into their after-workout routine. Or, you may be looking to provide relief for a specific part of your body. For example, if you are looking for relief for your hands or feet, look for a chair that will provide heat in those areas.

Are you tired of constantly misplacing your keys or worrying about who can access your home? If so, consider switching to a keyless door lock system. These high-tech alternatives offer convenience and security but do have drawbacks. Before you make the change, let’s explore the pros and cons to help you decide if keyless locks are the right choice for your home. UNLOCK THE CONVENIENCE One of the most appealing aspects of keyless locks is their convenience. No more frantically searching for your keys when your hands are full — with a simple code, fob, or biometric scan, you can effortlessly access your home.
