In Memoriam

The Twentieth Anniversary of GEORGE C. BARLOW 18.11.2003

Right now, you’re in a different place, and though it seems far apart, you’re closer than you ever were, you’re here inside my heart.

If I could visit heaven, on this your special day, maybe for a moment, my pain would go away.

I would wrap my arms around you and kiss your smiling face and tell you no-one in the world will ever take your place. May the winds of love blow softly and whisper for you to hear, thank you for your endless love that helps me through each day,

and thank you for the memories that never fade away. You’re the man I loved, and I was proud to be your wife, and every day in some small way I celebrate your life. And though it’s sad to think about the way things reunited, it will be for evermore. Nothing can ever take away the love a heart holds dear. Fond memories linger every day, remembrance keeps you near. Those special years will not return, the ones we shared together, but the love for you within my heart will stay with me forever. Your life was full of kindness, a helping hand in all our needs. Sincere and true in heart and mind Will beautiful memories your life behind. Shoes we love don’t go away, they walk beside me every day. Unseen, unheard but always near, still loved, still missed, still very dear. You went to sleep, without a goodbye, and I often want to question why. You didn’t deserve what you went through, life can be so unfair. Now that you are not here, I feel a sadness in my heart that will not go away. Sometimes I wish I could turn back time and had not left things unsaid. But I have lovely memories which are tied with a golden thread. Now that you are not with me, It’s your shoulder I want to cry on. I miss and love you so very much, and there isn’t anyone on earth who could mean the same to me, in the silence of my mind where no one else can see your face, your smile, your memory is kept so tenderly. Sometimes with smiles, sometimes with tears, but always with love despite the passing years. Those happy years will not return, when we were all together, but with love and memories in my heart, you will stay with me forever. Somewhere beyond the sunset, where loved ones never die, you’re sitting in a beautiful garden beneath its golden garden. Though heaven and earth divide us, we are never far apart. For you are always in my thoughts and forever in my heart. Your loving wife Sadie xxxxxxx

MP opens school memorial garden HONOUR: MP Andrew Gwynne cuts the ribbon to open the garden at the school.

A memorial garden has been created at Poplar Street Prima- ry School, Audenshaw, in hon- our of two beloved members of school staff. Denton and Reddish MP An- drew Gwynne and Councillor Charlotte Martin were invited along to officially open the gar - den. The garden was set up to cel- ebrate and remember the lives of Sue Chesters and Leanne Ray, who sadly passed away in 2021 and 2022 respectively. The garden is a space for re- flection and play for both chil - dren and adults, where benches have been installed along with

windchimes and light reflec - tors. Helen Fletcher, Headteacher at Poplar Street Primary, part of Victorious Academies Trust said: “Leanne and Sue were much loved members of Poplar Street School, they both de- veloped some lifelong friends there and it was a pleasure to devote a little corner of school to create a memorial garden in their honour. “Over time the garden will be developed further we will also be adding a willow hut. We would like to thank the family and friends who came to share in this special day.”

Andrew said: “It’s been my absolute pleasure to be invit- ed to Poplar Street Primary to cut the ribbon and officially open the new memorial garden which has been dedicated to two former members of staff, it was lovely to hear other mem- bers of staff give their tributes to Sue and Leanne. “It’s very clear they’ve left a permanent mark on the whole school community. “It was also really nice for Councillor Charlotte Martin and I to be briefly shown around the school and I got some great questions from some of the pu- pils about being an MP!”
