THIRD PARTY PASSIVE FIRE PROTECTION
M ontgomery Smyth Fire Consultancy Ltd provided third party accredited Passive Fire Protection services for The Ewart Building project. The main body of works involved sealing all service penetrations both horizontally and vertically, in line with the fire strategy drawings that were issued by the project architect, to provide fire compartmentation of between 30 and 120 minutes. Outside of the general scope of works included application of intumescent paint to structural steel sections alongside the installation of a highly thermal insulating compound, to provide a fire rated load bearing construction. Commenting on the completed project, John Smyth, Principal Consultant & Director of Montgomery Smyth Fire Consultancy Ltd said, “We worked with McAleer & Rushe and
