Belfast-based Clerk of Works, Joel Trimby, has been ‘Highly Commended’ in The Build on Quality Awards 2022 for his work on The Ulster Hospital McDermott Unit. The annual competition, organised by The Institute of Clerk of Works and Construction Inspectorate of GB, was hosted by The Dublin Chapter during the Institute’s AGM earlier this year. Open to all construction projects within the UK and Ireland, only 15 projects were shortlisted. Of these projects, four were from Ireland (NI and ROI); two of which were Joel’s projects: the Ulster Hospital Acute Services Block and the Ulster Hospital McDermot Unit. Commenting, Joel said it was an “honour and privilege” to receive the award for himself and on behalf of everyone working in the NHS, whose “dedication and commitment over the years has been outstanding.” Previously, Joel was the ‘Overall Winner” of The Build on Quality Awards competition in 2017. DOWDS DIRECTOR TAKES ON MONT BLANC SUMMIT

Dowds Contracts Director, Brian Cunning took off on a journey to the summit of the renowned Mont Blanc at the end of August to raise awareness and funds for Causeway Giants Wheelchair Basketball Team. He was inspired by Ryan Archibald, a local Ballymoney man, who is a founding member of the Causeway Giants. Ryan trains at Ulster University Coleraine with the ever-growing

team, which is open to both those with a disability or able- bodied. Any funds raised by Brian’s 15,773ft ascent of Western Europe’s tallest peak will go towards purchasing the necessary equipment to help individual club members reach their full potential and promote Causeway Giant’s success within the local community and beyond. www.dowdsgroup.com
