MACBLAIR STAFF SADDLE UP FOR 300-MILE CYCLE AROUND BRANCH NETWORK TO RAISE FUNDS FOR NEW CHARITY PARTNERS… Team members saddle up for MacBlair’s 300-mile charity cycle
M acBlair is partnering with two new charities for 2022/23: AWARE and Community Rescue Service, and from September 6-9 staff from MacBlair, Watershed, Doorways, P McDermotts & Wood Floor Warehouse took part in a 300-mile cycle challenge around the entire MacBlair network of 19 branches to help raise funds for them. Six colleagues took part in the main cycle, supported by staff members taking part on virtual static cycles in all the branches. AWARE is the Depression Charity for Northern Ireland and Community Rescue Service (CRS) is a charitable search and rescue organisation operated by volunteers from communities across Northern Ireland. AWARE has an established network of 23 support groups in
rural and urban areas across the country, which are run by our trained volunteers. Support groups welcome people with depression and bipolar disorder as well as carers for people with the illness. The Community Rescue Service is a charitable search and rescue organisation operated by volunteers from communities across Northern Ireland. Members provide all aspects of search and rescue falling under the remit of Lowland Rescue including ground, inland water, bike, boat and more. Throughout 2022/2023 the MacBlair, Watershed, Doorways, P McDermotts & Wood Floor Warehouse teams, are taking on challenges and organising events, in aid of both amazing charities. The first fund raising event was the Bann River 10Km Raft Challenge on behalf of the CRS. The challenge
was a 10Km paddle down the Bann in fancy dress. A total of 13 teams were involved on the day from all the brands and as a group they raised over £10,000. MacBlair is inviting all its customers, suppliers, friends and family to join in and get involved with their fund raising events to help raise funds for their AWARE and CRS.
