VANGUARD BRANDING PROGRAM The Valero Vanguard Branding Program has been developed to give each store a look of quality and distinction. The identity and site elements are specifically designed to represent the brand as fresh, modern and forward-thinking as we pursue our goal of expanding our wholesale network. While it is impossible to show every variation to the brand image that may be required, this manual provides guidelines covering key aspects of the program including, but not limited to, signage, canopies, dispensers and paint specifications. All materials and signage necessary to meet the guidelines and specifications set forth in this Wholesale Branding Manual must be obtained through one of Valero’s authorized suppliers unless otherwise approved, in writing, by Valero. This requirement applies to new builds and sites undergoing major conversions as well as existing sites involved in minor improvements or repairs (e.g. installation of a new dispenser, repainting, refurbishment of building or canopy fascias, etc.). IMPORTANT NOTE This Branding Manual, together with the VMSC Basic Image Requirements and the VMSC Basic Operational Requirements collectively provides the requirements covering the proper use and display of the relevant Valero brand at each branded Station, as well as the operation thereof (“Brand Standards”). The current versions of each of the Brand Standards documents are available on the Wholesale Portal. The Brand Standards are an important part of your relationship with us. You are required to be in full and strict compliance at all times, unless otherwise authorized in writing by Valero. Each of your Station(s) will be inspected periodically to ensure compliance with the Brand Standards. Failure to comply with the Brand Standards is grounds for termination of the brand license for a branded Station. Valero reserves its right to amend, change, or otherwise modify the Brand Standards from time to time. In the event that the brand license for a Station has been terminated, the Station must be promptly “Physically Debranded” as that term is defined and explained in the Distributor Marketing Agreement or Dealer Supply Agreement, as applicable, and the Debrand Reference Guide attached as Appendix 1 to this Valero Branding Manual. i

Site Branding Overview

SITE BRANDING overview MAIN IDENTIFICATION ELEMENTS The Valero identification elements present the brand with the greatest visual impact possible while communicating proper product and service information to the consumer. Most standard elements, along with some common variations, are depicted in this manual. In cases where the site will not accommodate these elements, please contact your Territory Sales Manager for more information. All materials and signage necessary to meet the guidelines and specifications set forth in this Wholesale Branding Manual must be obtained through one of Valero’s authorized suppliers unless otherwise approved, in writing, by Valero.

Main ID/Price Sign The 6’ Flag Mount is the recommended sign for the Main/ID Price Sign application. Flag Mount ID/Price Sign arrays start with the Valero ID/Sign at the top, followed by gasoline and diesel fuel grades and prices, then E-85 or other alternative fuels. If applicable, Auxiliary Signs advertising store names and/ or store services will always be displayed below the fuel products. Options for this sign are illustrated on pages B3 and B4.

PUMP NUMBERS

Local codes may restrict the size and placement of Main ID/Price Signs. Other options are provided for as depicted in this manual. Depending on the condition and size of the existing sign, or local permit requirements, replacement faces may be a consideration over a new sign. Under no circumstances are LED readerboards to be used as LED pricer displays. Valero branded locations must sell a minimum of three grades of gasoline. However, the minimum requirement is that at least one grade of gasoline is posted and priced . Some sites may also sell diesel, E-85 or other alternative fuels. Numerous options exist for displaying these fuel products (along with Auxiliary Signs) as illustrated in Sections B and C.

Regardless, gasoline will always come first in the order followed by diesel, then E-85 or other alternative fuels. If applicable, Auxiliary Signs will always be displayed below the fuel products. Colors for background panels and product names are the same for all ID/Price signs. However, colors for price numerals will differ depending on whether they are of the LED or Font-Based variety. Following are recommended colors for LED price numerals, in addition to the standard treatments for Font-Based price numerals.

Auxiliary Sign Standards

Canopy Graphics Careful consideration is paid to the placement and orientation of canopy graphics. A typical canopy consists of color graphics, wordmarks, and logos. • The primary elevation for the wordmark is determined by primary and secondary traffic flow. • The application of canopy graphics should follow the same basic placement as illustrated on page A2. • Factors that may restrict the use of additional wordmarks will include canopy size, visibility and local codes. The size of wordmarks and logos is dictated by the height of the canopy fascia (see Canopy Height & Length General Guidelines table on page F6). Important Note: Unauthorized Signage on Canopy Under no circumstances is it acceptable to install or display signage on the canopy fascia of either a temporary or permanent nature without prior, written authorization from Valero. This includes reader boards, banners, promotional signs and LED price signs. Canopy Poles Canopy poles will typically be painted Thundercloud light gray with blue and yellow column decoration. • Canopy Pole widths (square or round) must be a minimum of 16” to receive the full treatment which includes the vinyl Valero letters. • Canopy poles adjacent to the building should be painted Thundercloud Gray • Columns with cladding or masonry finish will not receive the full treatment. Please contact the Project Management Team for approved options. Important Note: Unauthorized Signage on Canopy Poles Under no circumstances is it acceptable to install or display signage on the canopy poles of either a temporary or permanent nature without prior, written authorization from Valero. This includes banners, promotional signs, pole wrap signs, warning decals, handwritten signs and notices, etc. In addition, attaching windshield service centers and towel dispensers to canopy poles is prohibited. Instead, each fuel island should be equipped with at least one free-standing, combination windshield service center/ trash receptacle.

Sign Placement Placement of the Main ID/Price Sign depends on a site’s overall layout as well as the primary and secondary traffic flow. • Corner Lot: Corner lots should consider placement at a 45° angle to the intersection. • Lot with Only One Primary Street: Signs should be placed at a 90° angle to the street. The sign pole should be toward the building while the flag points toward the street. Standard Sign Dimensions

USAGE CRITERIA continued Branded Fuel Dispenser Graphics Graphics for Multiple Product Dispensers (MPDs) on the Branded Fuel Island consist of the following elements as illustrated in Section E. • Pump Bonnets • Door Skins • Brand Decals • Fuel Grade Decals • Octane Rating Decals • Warning Decals (see Important Note below) • TOP TIER TM Gasoline Decals • Proud to Be American Decals Stand-alone Branded Diesel Dispensers are acceptable on the Branded Fuel Island and will include the same door skins as on the MPDs (pump bonnets are optional). A yellow decal with DIESEL in blue letters should also be affixed to the face of Branded Diesel Dispensers (see illustration on page G.2).

Branded Fuel Dispenser Bonnets Bonnets with Valero wordmarks and logos are mandatory for all MPDs on the Branded Fuel Island.

The only exceptions are when local codes restrict the use of wordmarks on dispenser bonnets, or when local codes or certain pump models restrict the use of branded bonnets altogether. Bonnets are optional on stand-alone Branded Diesel Fuel Dispensers. If present, they should meet the same criteria as for MPDs.

Bollards Steel bollards on all Branded Fuel Islands are to be painted blue. Bollards surrounding buildings and car washes should complement the proprietary building design and Valero image. There are three exceptions: • Large concrete bollards on all fuel islands are painted dark gray. • Steel bollards on the Unbranded Fuel Island are also painted dark gray. • Steel finish bollards do not require painting unless previously painted.

Important Note: Fuel Warning/Regulatory Decals Distributors are solely responsible for providing proper notice (in compliance with all local, state and Federal laws) to consumers regarding the dangers associated with dispensing and using fuels and fuel products. Valero DOES NOT provide fuel warning/regulatory decals to distributors. However, the distributor is responsible for the purchase and placement of warning/regulatory decals on all fuel dispensers used to notify the public about the dangers associated with dispensing and using fuel and fuel products.

Curbs All curbs will be painted dark gray (excluding steel curbs which do not require painting unless previously painted). This applies to all fuel islands (including Unbranded), in addition to steel finish curbs around buildings and car washes. Light Poles/Gas Vents/Trash Enclosures All light poles will be painted Thundercloud light gray. Gas vents away from buildings will also be painted Thundercloud light gray while those adjacent to buildings should match the neutral color of the building. Trash enclosures will also be painted Thundercloud light gray. Store Fascia Graphics Except where restricted by local codes, options for store fascia treatments include: • Freestanding Building: Neutral color graphics and S tore N ame in White block letters (first letter of each word is capitalized with remaining letters in small capitals). • Island Marketer: Neutral color graphics and S tore N ame in White block letters (first letter of each word is capitalized with remaining letters in small capitals). • Building Construction: As a result of re-branding existing sites, various building types may not be conducive to standard fascia treatments; custom treatments will be dealt with on a site by site basis. Important Note: Unauthorized Signage on Building Fascia Under no circumstances is it acceptable to install or display signage on the building fascia of either a temporary or permanent nature without prior, written authorization from Valero. This includes reader boards, banners, promotional signs of any nature, etc.

Pump Number Signs Pump number signs will be placed on each side of any canopy pole adjacent to a pump at a right angle to the fuel island. These will be attached directly to the pole or cladding, whichever applies. As a rule, the pump number signs should be positioned 10’-6” from ground level (as measured from the base of the canopy pole to the rounded bottom of the sign). The background on the signs will be blue with white vinyl numbers. See page F17. Valero pump number signs can be ordered with or without the number pre-applied. Number sequence can be applied with either the same number or a different number on both sides.

Important Note: Pump Number Signs Pump number signs are utilized on Branded Fuel Islands only. Unbranded Fuel Islands MUST NOT , under any circumstances, receive this treatment.

Branded Fuel Dispenser Risers A white or aluminum finish is the brand standard for all risers (does not apply to Ovation model dispensers).

Important Note: Discount Pricing Posting Options When offering discounted pricing for the Valero Credit Card or the Valero Credit Card and Cash, there are two permissible methods for posting prices on a Price Sign. One method is to display both the discounted price (e.g. Cash/Valero Card) and the non-discounted price (e.g. Debit/Credit). The other method is to display the non-discounted price only. Any Price Sign must always display the highest applicable price. When displaying the discounted price, Price Signs must include the pricing for Debit. Pricing for Cash-only discounts is prohibited.

These graphics consist of the following: Blue and White Background • Radius with screen printed decoration • ACM is the required treatment Valero Wordmark • Will always be applied in the solid white ACM band • Wordmark and logo can only be combined on a single canopy elevation that’s equal to or greater than 60’. Anything less, the logo will be dropped.

External LED Light Bar • Integrated light bar along the top edge, (3) sides of the canopy only • Do not put light bar on rear fascia of canopy Valero Logo • Can be used independently on an elevation • If the canopy edge extends over a building elevation, the wordmark or logo element needs to start 2’ from the edge of the building, and not from the edge of the canopy

Canopy Fascia Guidelines & Variations Identification of the Primary Elevation is based on an assessment of canopy visibility, traffic flow and ingress/egress to the canopy. All canopy elements need to be centered vertically within the white and/or blue fascia. The goal on all elevations is to maximize the use of illuminated graphics using the following guidelines: • Wordmarks and logos must be applied to designated spaces that follow Branding Standards • Logo is always adjacent on nearest canopy side to the wordmark

FLAT ACM is the required treatment on 48” canopy fascia.

Bollards / Curbs Steel bollards are painted blue (excluding steel finish bollards unless previously painted) and large concrete bollards are painted dark gray. All curbs that have previously been painted will be painted dark gray (excluding unpainted steel finish curbs). If curbs were previously unpainted, they can remain unpainted.

Trash Receptacle Minimum of one Valero approved windshield service center/trash receptacle per fuel island.

Canopy Poles Canopy poles are painted Thundercloud light gray with blue and yellow column decoration unless made of stone or masonry. Existing pole cladding in good condition may also be acceptable. See more details under Valero Fuel Island Policy on page F17.

Canopy Pans & Exposed Guttering Canopy pans and exposed guttering are painted white.

Pump Number Signs Placed on each side of any canopy pole

adjacent to a pump at a right angle to the fuel island, 10’-6” above ground level measured from base of poles to rounded bottoms of signs. Can be applied with the same number printed front and back or a different number printed front and back. See more details on page F18.
