message to inspire our faith in His Father. It is one of the strangest mani festations of the hardness of the human heart, that such a Father has such a hard time to get His children to trust Him. We turn to an earthly father and mother, or to some loving friend; we seek their aid, their help, their love, but the real Father is waiting always to have us come to Him, to talk to Him, to tell Him that we trust Him, that we are sure He knows, He loves and that we are confident that all things will work for good, because we are His called and we love Him. Is there anything you can imagine more ungrateful than to turn to some other Master or more un reasonable than to fail to devote our lives to Him? We cannot add a cubit to our stature. We see the flowers growing with their splendid colors. We have the ripened fruit with its delicious flavor; the grass is beautifully clothed for a day, then it is gone. Is it possible that He could have His eye on a single sparrow and forget His dear children? Is it not unavailing to be worried and anxious? Is it not unnecessary to be consumed with carking cares? Is it not unseemly to be disturbed about the future, when we know that it is all in His hands and that our heavenly Father knows it all, cares about our daily needs, is loving us with a great passion, is longing to have us with Him and so is preparing a place for us. Do not let us hurt His great, longing heart by doubting Him, but let us give Him joy by committing our lives absolutely into His loving hands. PRACTICAL POINTS (1) The first thing is to put first things first. (2) Tomorrow is in His hands—and so are we. (3) Doubt concerning our Father's care for His children originated with the Devil- (4) . You can add a good many things

present evil world as to commend our Father’s love and' our Saviour’s redemp tion to our fellows. Are we doing it?

Our lesson comprises ten verses packed with precious teaching concern ing the relation of a believer in Jesus Christ and the h e a v e n ly Father. Never make a mistake in HEART OF teaching about the Fa- THE LESSON ther of the New Testa- T. C. Horton ment. Always em phasize the fact that no one can call Him Father nor will He ever recognize anyone as His child save those who recognize and confess Jesus Christ as both Saviour and Lord. The theme can well be, “Your heavenly Father knoweth.” What does He know? He knoweth all things, for He is all-wise. He is before all things. - He is the Author of all things. He is the Creator of all things. “There is no searching of His understanding.” He has all power. Now there is one more thing we need to know about Him and we can there safely put purselves in His keeping with implicit child-like faith. Is He a God of Love? Does He love as would an earthly father? Can we depend upon Him as we could upon an earthly father, who was rich and powerful? Could we depend upon Him as we could upon an earthly mother whose life was lived in devotion to us? If we can get this simple lesson by heart, in our hearts, we have solved the greatest problem of human life. God, the Almighty One, could never be known as Father until He sent into the world His Son, Who came to manifest and make known His Father. God, the Father, sent Him into this world of sin; sent Him because He loved sinful men, sent Him to die for sinful men and He was His only Son. Having given us His Son in this wonderful, loving way, “will He not with Him also freely give us all things?” Our Lord Jesus is giving this
