Faith in What Christ will do.—The Coming -of Christ as King. Dean Farrar, as one of Queen Vic­ toria’s chaplains, once preached before her at Windsor, on the Second Advent of Christ. After the service, the Queen said, “Oh, how I wish that the Lord might come during my lifetime.” “Why does your majesty feel this very earnest desire?” asked Dr. Farrar. The Queen replied with lips quivering with emo­ tion, “I should so love to lay my crown at His feet.” “He Brought Him to Jesus.” A little girl deciding for Christ, asked permission of her mother to join the church. The child said, “Mother, would it look well for me to join the church while you stay away?” The mother felt the force of the words and as a result both mother and father were persuaded by the child and the whole family was saved. A convicted sinner sought relief by conversation with his pastor, i At last the pastor said, “Go home—man can­ not help you—the whole matter lies between yourself and Christ.” He turned away downcast. It seemed as if his last prop was gone. When man cast him off, he in his despair cast the burden of his sins upon Christ, and found almost immediate relief. A Great Statesman’s Testimony. “All that I think, all that I hope, all that I write and all that I live for is based upon the divinity of Jesus Christ; the one central joy of our poor way­ ward race.”—William E. The Lamb of God. “A gentleman traveling in Norway, tells how he went to see the church in a certain town. Looking up at its tower he was surprised to see the carved figure of a lamb at LESSON the top.' He inquired ILLUSTRATIONS why it was placed W. H. Pike in that position, and was told tnat when the church was being built a, workman fell from the high scaffold. His fellow-. workmen saw him fall and rushed down, horror stricken, expecting to find him killed, hut to their surprise and joy he was almost unhurt. A flock of sheep were passing at the time of his fall, and he fell upon the crowded flock, and right upon the top of a lamb. The lamb was crushed to death hut the man was saved. So they carved a lamb on the top of the tower to 'commemorate the miraculous escape.” Here is death given to save life. “Come and See” Experience. “How do you know you are a Chris­ tian?” asked a workman. “Mate” he answered, “how do I know I’ve sugar in my tea?” “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” Psa. 34:8. Two gentlemen from London who had heard much about the movement in Wales went over “to see it.” Arriving at a little railway station, they asked the ' ticket collector if he could tell them where the revival was.
