THE K I NG ' S B U S I N E S S light.” He said, “Show me, Lord, the light and I will follow its leading.” He looked down and the light was pointing behind him. He turned about and fol lowed it. “He that followeth me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the Light of Life.” The Heavenly Pull. Dr. Stewart Holden tells of an adver tisement scheme, where a key was en closed in a glass case. The key was suspended in the air; a string held it down, but there was no string at the top. It seemed to be struggling to get to the top of the case. Above it and out of sight were some powerful mag nets which were constantly pulling the key upward. What an illustration of the Christian who is held to this earth by the string of flesh, but is constantly pulled heavenward by the new life of the Spirit. Not Our Work To Guide. Down in the darkness in the heart of the steamer, the engineer stands. He never sees the vessel move; he does not know where she is going; it is not his duty to know. It is his duty to answer every signal to start his engine, to quicken or diminish its motion, or to reverse it, just as he is directed by the one whose part it is to know the jour ney. But the engineer has nothing whatever to do with the vessel’s course. So it is with the Christian. It is not our part to guide our life through this world amid its tangled affairs. Obedience to the Heavenly Guide. In the Mediterranean Sea a few weeks ago an Allied Battle ship was cruising, holding an observation balloon which was high above it and in communication with the vessel by wireless. Over on the other side of a narrow neck of land, twelve miles away, the observers sighted an enemy transport filled with soldiers. The balloonist gave the gun boat their location and ordered to fire. They fired and the message came back, “Five hundred yards over, fire again.”

360 world is a multiplied number of spirit- filled men and women going forth as witnesses. PRACTICAL POINTS (1) The Holy Spirit was a heaven sent messenger. (2) There is no need of a second Pente cost, but there is need of spirit- filled people. (3) When there is more prayer, there will be more of the Pentecostal power. (4) Were we willing to be filled, the Spirit would waken the world with His wonderful works. • (5) The tongues needed our tongues touched by the Spirit—unintellig- able without an interpreter. (6) The command to the church is, “be ye filled with the Spirit.” (7) Compare the confusion of tongues at Babel with the perfect order of tongues at Pentecost. (8) Illiterate disciples became intelli gent witnesses when anointed by the Spirit. Man’s Only Light. A minister once dreamed that he was holding service in a town and all the lights went out. His family was with him and he went out to get some food for them. ' There LESSON was no light in the ILLUSTRATIONS street and no one W. H. Pike could make light. The minister criedi to God for help. He looked at his feet and there was a little light shining about a step ahead of him. He followed it out into the street and around some debris of broken autos and wagons to a bakery where he helped himself to food and left the money on the counter. On his way back he turned to take a little curiosity excursion, but imme diately lost the light. Again he cried to God and a voice said “You did not walk in the light, when you had the
