(Jesus) was going to stay right on earth. Jesus told them how often He was separated from them when they were down here together, and even when He was right with them, the closest He could get to them was to stand right by their side, but this Helper that He was going to send to them when He went away, would come and live right in their hearts, and in the heart of every boy and girl and every man and woman that really, loved Jesus, and don’t you, see how He can lead and guide us and help lis at all times. Now you all want to know who this wonderful helper is that Jesus promised to send when He went away, and He did send Him. It is God’s Holy Spirit, and you know this wonderful Helper, God’s Spirit, is living right in the heart of e.very one of us in this room this morning who has taken Jesus to be our friend and Saviour, and He is ready to help us and lead us at all times. Just stop and think some time when you have done something that you know mother did not want you to do, and then you thought you would tell her you did not do it, and something way down in your heart told you it was wrong to tell mother a story. That was this wonderful Helper, God's Concluded on Page 372
and X would get her picture and look at it very often, and that helped some for it seemed she was nearer to me when X looked at the picture. Then one day she wrote me a letter, and I carried it around in my pocket and would read it over and over. Her pic ture and letter helped »me because it made me feel she was near. Today we are to have the most wonderful story about a helper that is a real helper, for he does not just seem to be near, but he is really near. Prayer. Lesson Story: Before we have our story for today I am going to ask Har old to tell us the message the angel gave on Easter morning a long time ago. The disciples and all the friends of Jesus were very happy to have Jesu» alive and with them again, but Jesus told them He could not stay down here on earth, but must go back to heaven to get a place ready for all the people that loved Him. At first when the peo ple heard Jesus was going away they were sad, but Jesus then told them that while it was necessary for Him to go and leave them, yet He was going to send them a wonderful Helper, so they would not be left alone for a single moment, and that they would really be taken care of just as truly as though He
