LOVELY LITTLE ADDITIONS FOR SUMMER STYLE

When the winter chill is off and the sun wakes up your senses, it’s fun to change up some simple décor items to give your home a little summer styling love. Check out these suggestions and imagine how you can enhance your home beautifully with a few simple touches.

Your Instagram is so beautiful! We love your style. What would you say are the trends to watch for this coming spring and summer in interior decorating? I think you will see a lot of colour incorporated into spaces. A room painted in a rich tone or the addition of artwork and accessories are ways to incorporate this trend, whether you’re feeling commited to a big change or just want to bring in a small accent. How could someone give a quick spring makeover to their living room? Adding or switching out decorative pillows is a great way to make a room feel new again. Changing out accessories can also make a big difference. I think it’s a great idea to treat yourself to fresh flowers whenever possible, paired with a pretty vase. They add so much life and beauty to a room! Do you have any tips for dressing up a table when you have guests for dinner? I love patterned napkins and, of course, fresh flowers! I like to place a few low arrangements across the table along with candles to make the occasion feel special.

You’ve got kids – any ideas for ways to keep the toys in check? Baskets with lids are a great way to hide a multitude of toys. An entrance closet is often a space that doesn’t get used to its full potential. If you’re able to add shelving and bins, it can be a great storage solution. What colours do you predict will be hot this spring and summer? I am a big fan of blue and green and I’m happy to say that I think we’ll be seeing much more of these colours in the seasons coming up. What’s your favourite room in the house and why? I’d have to say the kitchen. It doesn’t seem to matter what the layout of a home is, everyone always ends up gathering in the kitchen! We try to make it a priority to have dinner together as a family, so I love how it’s also a place where conversation happens regularly.
