and public places? As they rose from their knees, a hush was upon them. An Unseen Hand had drawn aside the veil of vision and had given the glimpse of a new spiritual frontier. This would mean the founding of a new mission. What of workers, properties, funds, prayer backing - all that such a venture would mean? The words of the faithful old missionary came again. Long ago Harold had confusedly asked, “How can I be a missionary?”
He had answered: “ ‘It is God that worketh in you, Both TO WILL and TO DO of His good pleasure.’ If God has put it in your heart, go forward.’’ • • •
A tropical sun beat mercilessly down on the lush verdure and rugged trails of Sao Paulo State and on a rugged jeep laboring over ruts and dirt roads which seemed almost impassable. It lurched sideways, lunged downwards and sometimes stopped altogether while the travelers got out to make inquiries at simple dwellings. At last the climbing became hazardous. “We just can’t make it any further,” Harry declared. “Then let’s go on by foot,” suggested a Brazilian companion.
