On its one side a full-length mural depicts the martyrdom of five young missionary men who were killed in Ecuador by Auca Indians. This auditorium was a gift from the martyrs’ five widows, who, having given their most beloved possession, were yet constrained by love to give more, that Brazil’s youth might also say “Yes” to Jesus Christ and spread His message of redemption to those who sit in darkness. And what of the Indian tribes? The South American Indian Mission and others dedicated to reaching the indigenous peoples carry faithfully on. If Christians were satisfied to bask in their blessings, this missionary story could end here. But this can never be so. Christ’s own followers will always dare hardship, peril, and suffering for Eternal Love. Come, rugged hardship, toil, and tears! His work goes on!
