hammock where the tiny Indian baby slept, and gently squeezed his wife’s hand. There were tears in his eyes, and a quiet confidence in his voice. “She’s going to live! It seems impossible, but she is going to live!” The ministries of Word of Life in Brazil continue growing. Today there are nine locations throughout the country, and the camps host more than 20,000 youth and families every year. The seminary has prepared thousands of Christian workers, pastors, and missionaries. Gospel teams crisscross the nation, and Word of Life materials are read in every Brazilian state. Youth meetings and seminars help reach today’s students with the Gospel and train them to grow in the faith. Brazilian young people are going to other lands to preach the Good News, and many churches are flourishing because of the influence of Word of Life. More than 80 years ago, God kindled a glowing flame in HarryBollback’s heart during aWordof Life rallywith JackWyrtzen. That glow has become a sweet fire, sweeping through the jungles of Brazil and through the country’s towns and cities. It has jumped the oceans and is now reaching into more than 80 countries as the flame is fanned by hundreds of missionaries around the world. The promise God made to Joshua that encouraged Millie Bollback to accompany her husband to the jungles of Brazil still stands, “For the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” (Joshua 1:9)
