5.3Using the Digital Protractor

Calibration

QC220 Q Axis Set-up (Optional Rotary Encoder) Switch on readout Press “Menu” key twice Press “Set-up” key Scroll to Supervisor (using arrow keys) Key in “070583 then “Enter”

Scroll to “Encoders” Press right arrow key Press “Q” option Set encoder to TTL Set interpolation to X1 Align screen crosshair onto pointer. Scroll down to “Scale Counts” set to zero with reset button. Press Cal button Rotate Screen 360° Press “Teach” Complete by pressing “Finish” twice.

Incremental and Absolute Measurements

Pressing the INC ABS button will cause the display to change between indicating the incremental and absolute count. The absolute count is indicated by illumination of the ABS indicator to the right of the INC ABS button.

Zeroing the Display

Pressing Z key will zero the absolute or incremental display, depending on which type of display is selected, leaving the other display unaffected.

For example with ABS selected, pressing Z Key will zero the absolute display. The incremental display can be recalled by selecting INC. To zero the incremental display, select INC and press RESET again.
