Business Events Tasmania

Business Events Tasmania host North American incentive buyers With the direct Auckland to Hobart flight connecting Tasmania to North America via one stop, access to our island state has never been easier. That’s why, earlier this month, Business Events Tasmania (BET) were excited to welcome 16 corporate and incentive organisers from all over North America. For all visitors this was their first visit to Tasmania with the familiarisation (famil) program showcasing our world class hospitality firsthand. Held in partnership with Business Events Australia (BEA), the two-day program showcased uniquely Tasmanian experiences in demand by the global incentive market valued at $3.5 trillion. Our proximity to venues, distinct natural and cultural assets, and rooted connection with bold makers and thinkers setting us apart from other destinations. Past famil programs have proven highly successful in converting future business events across the state, with this activity delivering a return-on- investment of $125 for every $1 spent. Already one attendee from this month’s visit is considering Tasmania for a high-end corporate event for 50 delegates. Not only do incentive programs disperse visitors across our regions, they deliver exceptional
economic benefit with an average spend of $1,347 per delegate per day – a considerable increase on the average spend of a typical leisure visitor. This most recent famil was delivered on the back of Australia Next, Tourism Australia’s premier incentive showcase, where BET secured 33 appointments with international incentive buyers as Tasmania’s representative. In hosting our first-time delegates and continuing to be active at major tradeshows, we are laying the groundwork for a greater awareness of Tasmania on the global business event and incentive stage.
