Launching Hospo Health Leaders Program

HOSPO Health officially kicked off an exciting new chapter on Wednesday 22 October with the launch of the HOSPO Health Leaders Program. The media joined us to hear from an impressive speaker lineup - The Honourable Jane Howlett MP, Minister for Tourism, Hospitality and Events, Hospitality Tasmania CEO Steve Old, HOSPO Health’s Chief Happiness Officer Sherri Ring, and one of our expert facilitators Professor Angela Martin. Held in Centurion Sky at Crowne Plaza Hobart, it was a morning of great energy and connection with leaders from a number of our participating properties in attendance. Building on the foundations laid when HOSPO Health launched in 2022, and the subsequent program in 2024-25, the new Leaders Program takes preventative wellbeing to the next level with leadership at the centre. Over the coming months, leadership teams from ten venues around Tasmania will take part in tailored workshops spanning workplace culture, wellbeing frameworks, positive workplace mental health, resilience, mindfulness and the Gallup Executive Strengths Program. “Our people are what make Tasmania’s hospitality industry truly special,” said Hospitality Tasmania

CEO Steve Old. “With the HOSPO Health Leaders Program, we’re backing our leaders with the tools and confidence they need to build workplaces where wellbeing, engagement and strong culture aren’t just goals - they’re part of everyday life.” The Leaders Program marks a significant step forward for Hospitality Tasmania and HOSPO Health, and one that strengthens the sector from the inside out by empowering leaders to champion healthier, stronger workplace cultures across the state.
