Clubs Tasmania

Building stronger clubs through inclusion: Clubs Tasmania and APM Employment Services Leading The Way For the past 18 months, Clubs Tasmania has been proudly partnering with APM Employment Services to support community clubs across the state – and the results have been outstanding. Together, we’ve helped place people with disabilities into meaningful roles within clubs, easing the workload on volunteers while strengthening club culture and community connection. With volunteer shortages continuing to challenge clubs across Tasmania, this partnership offers a practical and impactful solution. APM Employment Services oversees each participant during their 3-6-month placement, ensuring they receive the right support while gaining experience and confidence. Clubs employ participants at the appropriate award rate, but in return can receive up to 95 per cent of the wage subsidised, dramatically reducing the financial burden while increasing the club’s capacity. Whether your club needs help in the canteen, behind the bar, or keeping facilities clean and welcoming, APM works to match the right person with the right role – focusing on skills, strengths, and genuine interest. This personalised approach means clubs get reliable support while offering life-changing opportunities to people eager to contribute.

In October, Clubs Tasmania was honoured to attend the APM Employment Services Awards, where we were recognised with the Highest Achievement Award for our support and ongoing collaboration. It was a proud moment that highlighted what can be achieved when organisations work together for the benefit of clubs and communities. As many already know, volunteers form the backbone of our community clubs, but with numbers declining, partnerships like this are more important than ever. APM continues to play a crucial role in bridging the volunteer gap by connecting clubs with people who are ready and willing to help. A heartfelt thank you to APM Employment Services for their commitment to community clubs and for helping create pathways to meaningful employment. We look forward to continuing this work and supporting more clubs across Tasmania to thrive through inclusion, opportunity, and connection. From all of us at Clubs Tasmania, happy holidays and best wishes for the new year!
