Sofia Tsamassiros of Eudaimonia Tasmanian Cycling Tours was awarded the Tourism Minister’s Young Achiever Award, recognising her as an exceptional emerging business leader and entrepreneur within the Tasmanian tourism industry. Judges’ Award for Positive Impact Tourism and People’s Choice Award The Party in the Paddock festival in Tasmania’s north won the Chair of Judges’ Award for Positive Impact Tourism. Now in its fourth year, the Positive Impact award recognised Party in the Paddock for pioneering a new, sustainable model of festival culture that uplifts people, preserves the environment, and showcases Tasmanian creativity in a unique way. The Australian Wooden Boat Festival also took out the People’s Choice Award, where winners were selected based on consumer choice – combining both online review scores and a public vote. The Tasmanian Tourism Awards include a robust judging process with a team of 26 independent judges who evaluate the 7,500-word written submissions, as well as conduct a business verification review, and assess the digital presence and engagement of each entrant. Consumer ratings across the 12-month qualifying period are also incorporated into the final score.
