AVX System User Guide

• Easy to use operator controls including joystick, wireless keyboard and mouse, and 24-inch touch screen monitor. • Optional CNC rotary stage that provides increased radial load stability and moment load rating. • Optional touch probe, that is fully integrated into the M3 software. The touch probe is ideal to measure the height of flat surfaces or the lateral position of vertical surfaces at different heights. • Optional touch probe changing rack enhances the touch probe option by offering additional utility.

3.3.1 X-Y-Z Stage

The AVX system is designed using a split gantry stage methodology. The stage sits upon a granite base plate with Y axis travel using a mechanical linear bearing. The Z column is fixed to the bridge and provides X and Z axis travel. Motion along the Z-axis is by means of a quiet-running DC servo motor. The system provides a large X-Y-Z stage of travel of 550 x 400 x 250 millimeters (22 x 16 x 10 inches). The stage is made from precision machined aluminum with surface mounting holes that enable customer-designed fixtures for part support.
