Stepped Light Dome
The AVX system includes the option for a stepped light dome. The stepped light dome is a specialized light that enables the user to see internal geometry much more clearly with less background reflection. Compared to a coaxial light or a standard ring light, the stepped light dome provides the following features and capabilities:
• Provides reduced background reflection.
• Enables better contrast of internal/pocket features.
• Includes four rings of LEDs at various angles, including dark field. The M3 software includes an interface to individually select which rings are active, and a slider that controls the intensity of the light. This functionality enables the stepped dome light to provide contrast for challenging features.
• Provides shadow control by adjusting the height of the dome on the Z-track.

Follow Substage Light
The follow substage light is specific to the lens options selected. M3 software enables control of the substage lighting.
3.3.5 MetLogix M3 Software
The AVX system includes the MetLogix M3 advanced metrology software. The software includes the following key features: • Advanced Video Probes : The M3 software includes several probes that provide the ability to capture complex edges, enable instant feature determination and measurement with the single click, and an industry first video touch probe functionality. • Field of View Functions : The field of view Auto Run function plays part programs to perform measurements quickly without operator intervention. Place one or more identical parts in the field of view and the system will identify the part, execute the appropriate program, and report measurement results.
