At Silver Falls State Park, you can reach 10, more than one per mile in a hike that takes about a half day, going at a leisurely pace. Plus, you can walk behind four of the waterfalls. How do you get there? Head to Salem, Ore., on Interstate 5. Take Highway 22 east to Oregon Highway 214 or Silver Falls High- way. Follow Silver Falls Highway to the south entrance of the park. It’s about 20 miles. N Nspire Challenge Rating:
Start the hike at the South Falls entrance to the park. It has lots of parking. Arrive around 7:30 a.m., es- pecially if you are there on a summer weekend.
