Annual Bluegrass Seedheads Research has shown fall is the time to start controlling next spring’s annual bluegrass seedheads since seedhead formation is initiated in fall under shorter days and cooler temperatures. Applications of Proxy ® in late fall plus spring improve control and consistency of control over the traditional spring-only applications. With the extended seedhead production in the Pacic Northwest, superintendents and researchers have found that up to ve spring applications of Proxy may be needed following the fall application for maximum seedhead control.
