Pythium Root Rot Applications for Pythium root rot on cool-season putting greens should be initiated in the spring when the average soil temperature at a 2” depth taken at 11 am is 60°F for three consecutive days. For warm-season putting greens, initiate applications in late-summer or early fall when soil temperatures drop below 80°F for three consecutive days. These applications should be watered-in with 0.125-0.25” of irrigation. Additional large patch applications may be needed in the fall and winter depending on your species, location, temperature, and rainfall. Rotate applications to Densicor ® if the annual maximum of Mirage ® Stressgard ® has been reached (6.5 fl. oz. per 1,000 ft 2 per year).
