IT’S PRETTIER THAN SALT DOUGH ... RIGHT? OH!MINO JOINS OUR FAMILY’S ORNAMENT TRADITION DECEMBER 2021 OHMINO.COM

Some people brew wassail at this time of year, while others hike out into the forest to find the perfect tree. In my house, we have a different tradition — since my daughters were small, we’ve spent days crafting homemade Christmas ornaments assembly-line style. I’m not going to lie, the ornaments started out really ugly. My 2-year-old and 4-year-old girls weren’t the world’s best artists — especially when they were working with salt dough and Styrofoam! But we sent the art pieces out to friends and family anyway. To make it official, we even created little labels for each ornament that said “Christmas by the Maynards: A fine line of handcrafted ornaments.” I know our family and friends looked forward to getting the packages in the mail every year because to this day, when we go over to friends’ houses during the holidays, we can pick out the girls’ ornaments on their trees.

decided to take the tradition up a notch for 2021 and include my fitness supplements company, Oh!mino, in the fun. As you can see, this Christmas, I ordered my very first batch of Oh!mino ornaments. I’m really proud of how well they turned out. Mine looks great on my tree! To me, these ornaments represent all of the growth and expansion our brand has had in the last year. We’ve sold more science-based amino acid supplements than ever before and started relationships with incredible wholesalers (you can read more from one of them on Page 2). We’re also now sponsoring three NFL and NBA athletes: Antonio Gibson of the Washington Football Team, Gary Clark of the Philadelphia 76ers, and Chris Chiozza of the Golden State Warriors. My team and I are incredibly honored and humbled that these athletes at the very top chose us to help them recover and stay on their A-game. Just like the ornaments my girls make, these Oh!mino Christmas Balls of Joy are too meaningful not to share. If you’re part of Oh!mino’s subscribe-and-save BFF Program, then you may have already gotten your ornament in the mail! I bought enough for every BFF on my autoship list, plus 60 more that will find their way to lucky customers before the holidays are through. If you want one, make a note for me when you place your order of Oh!mino powder or capsules on Ohmino.com. I may just have an ornament squirreled away with your name on it. Are you a personal trainer or business owner in the fitness space? Oh!mino can benefit you, your company, and your clients! Schedule a meeting with Michael today at Calendly.com/mmaynard/professional-calls to learn more about our professional programs.

My daughters have grown up a lot since then, and their art skills have improved, too! We still make ornaments, but I

Picture a physical therapist in your mind’s eye. What are they doing? You probably imagined them stretching a patient’s arm, helping someone through leg exercises, or massaging away back pain. Are we right on the money? All of these things are vital parts of the physical therapist’s toolbox, but they don’t give the whole picture. What most people don’t realize is that physical therapy isn’t just for body aches from the neck down. It can also treat head injury and ailments, neurological problems, and more! In many cases, the same techniques that ease your sore muscles and mobilize your joints can also help with headaches, dizziness, vertigo, and even concussions. have, then use targeted exercises (including eye exercises!) and other treatments to improve your mobility, reduce your pain, and help you kick medication to the curb. Stop dizziness and vertigo in their tracks. Dizziness and vertigo are terrible symptoms to live with. They can come with nausea, vomiting, anxiety, exhaustion, and even depression. These symptoms make it difficult to walk and do everyday tasks. You’re also much more likely to fall and hurt yourself if you’re dizzy, which is dangerous because more than 32,000 older adults die due to falls every year. Fortunately, PT can help you avoid that worst-case scenario. Depending on the cause of your dizziness, your PT may provide exercises to improve your balance, strength, and flexibility. Certain therapies can even target the network of nerves between your inner ear and eyes that keeps your vision steady. These will make turning your head less disorienting. Recover your balance after a concussion. If you’ve been in a car crash, experienced a sports injury, or hit your head another way, a concussion might be causing your headaches, dizziness, or vertigo. These symptoms can often persist long after you see a doctor, but a PT can give you guidance on safe activities, working with you to restore your balance, strength, and endurance through a customized exercise program. Your therapist might also use manual therapy, massage, and electrical stimulation to reduce your symptoms. Not every physical therapist specializes in treating head injuries and conditions like a neurological physical therapist or vestibular physical therapist does. But even if your PT doesn’t offer these treatments, they can certainly recommend someone in the field! To learn more about the benefits of PT for your noggin, ask about them on your next PT or doctor’s visit.

Ease headaches without medication. Physical therapy techniques like manual therapy and exercise have been proven to decrease the intensity, frequency, and duration of headaches. In some cases, PT can eliminate headache symptoms altogether! Your therapist will start by identifying the type of headache you

USA TRIATHLON ATHLETE BRAXTON BOKOS SWEARS BY OH!MINO! FIND OUR PRODUCTS IN HIS DAD’S ILLINOIS STORE

For father and son Preston and Braxton Bokos, fitness is the family business. Braxton is a triathlete with USA Triathlon, and Preston is a retired triathlete and the owner of Urban Tri Gear, a swim/run/bike store based in Westmont, Illinois. There, he stocks Oh!mino on the shelves. “I’ve been carrying it in the store going on a year,” Preston says. “I tried it for myself and felt that it was a good product, and my son Braxton approved of it based on his performances and how he felt during his recovery. It’s NCAA safe from what I can see, and it follows the guidelines. He tried other products beforehand, and he thought Oh!mino had more benefits on the recovery aspect and helped him get more strength.” The father-son duo takes fitness seriously. Their obsession with triathlons started when Preston began swimming competitively back in high school, and his coach asked him to train outside of the pool, too. “He was encouraging us to bike a lot, so I got a road bike and would ride about 20 miles before practice in the summer. Without even knowing too much about triathlons in high school, I was already starting that training process.”

swim class. A few years and many triathlons later, he started Urban Tri Gear to sell supplies to other athletes.

“Our store started out of the two swimming bins at the side of a pool down in Tampa, Florida,” he says.

Braxton started following in his dad’s footsteps at just 5 years old. At 13, he competed in the Chicago Triathlon's first Quad competition, crossing a total of 64 miles. His performance has only improved from there! Here at Oh!mino, we’re proud to count such an awesome father-son duo among fans of our products. We can’t wait to cheer Braxton on at the Olympics one day!

Preston ran, biked, and swam his first triathlon in Florida back in 2002 at the urging of the students in his adult masters

When celebrities jet off to Aspen, Colorado, for their winter vacations, they might not all be going to ski. According to Forbes, Aspen is also a top snowshoeing destination — and that’s a sport that celebrities and ordinary people of all ages can enjoy. Snowshoeing is a simple activity that dates back at least 6,000 years. It involves strapping large flipper- like attachments called snowshoes to your boots. You can use them to navigate flat plains, rolling hills, or steep mountains depending on the type of shoe you invest in.

When you strap on your snowshoes, you can burn up to 50% more calories than you would while hiking (depending on your pace and the type of terrain). Athletes who want to really amp up the exercise can even invest in jogging snowshoes! 3. Last but not least, snowshoeing is scenic! When you’re whizzing down a mountain on a snowboard or skis, you don’t have time to take in the view. But on snowshoes, you can soak up all of the winter beauty around you. You can even bring your camera along on your trek to capture pictures of any flora and fauna you see. If you want to try snowshoeing this winter, make sure you start with an easy trail and consult your doctor and/or physical therapist before you go. Always bring along a backpack of emergency supplies like a blanket and first aid kit, too, and consider purchasing or renting hiking poles along with
