The Ali Bin Ali Holding strengthened its longstanding tradition of being an active corporate partner of the global community. Following the devastating floods that affected the southern Indian state of Kerala , the Group stepped forward to assist recovery and rehabilitation efforts by handing over a contribution of QAR 50,770 to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund . The effort was coordinated as an extension of ABA’s Corporate Social Responsibility mandate, which seeks to participate in community initiatives that bring about meaningful change. In order to assist the state of Kerala, the Ali Bin Ali Holding organized a week-long campaign to collect donations for victims of

the catastrophe. ABA Holding ’s management and employees from all divisions of the conglomerate came together to raise funds that were specifically designated for flood relief and recovery efforts in the aftermath of the natural calamity. At a special gathering held on September 27, 2018, in the presence of senior managers of ABA Holding, General Manager – Finance Mr. Ganesh P.K. handed over the cheque to Mr. K.M.Varghese, President of the Indian Business & Professionals Council (IBPC) . After the successful go live at Qcare, the FORWARD application went live at ABA Contracting on October 15, 2018. While Mr. Suhail received the Certified Internal Auditor certificate from The Institute of Internal Auditors, Mr. Arjay received the ISO27001:2013 Lead Auditor certificate from BSI Training Academy.

Standing true to Ali Bin Ali Holding ’s reputation as an all-rounder, Ali Bin Ali & Partners - CAG and Baladna division emerged victorious in the popular Japa Sports League Inter- Company Basketball Tournament 2018. Held at Aspire Dome, the tournament took place from August to November 2018. There was participation from 32 organizations from all over Qatar, including Al Asmakh, Aerotech, Nestle, Arab Center for Engineering Studies (ACES), Carrefour Qatar, Daewoo,

Hamad Medical Corporation, Al Mannai Group and Nakheel Landscapes. The 16-member team of Ali Bin Ali Holding , led by Coach Ronnie Padios, trained and practiced hard to elevate the level of their game. They challenged all odds to balance work pressure with the tournament. This dedication and hard work guided them to the final of the tournament against Nakheel Landscapes on November 2, 2018. After a spectacular performance, the ABA Holding team emerged

victorious by 15 points. Freddie Gilboy from ABAP was named the man of the match. Delighted with the victory, Market Manager – Baladna Division Mr. Joseph Samaha said: “ I had full confidence in the boys and knew they would bring the trophy home. The practice of using a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet to store, manage and process data, rather than a local server or a personal computer. ABA is using certain Cloud-based applications such as Symphony, Oracle CRM, etc. Why to go for Cloud computing?

1. Flexibility Cloud-based services are ideal for businesses with growing or inconsistent bandwidth demands. If the needs, increase it’s easy to scale up the Cloud capacity, drawing on the service’s remote servers. Likewise, if it is needed to scale down again, the flexibility is baked into the service. This level of agility can give businesses using Cloud computing a real advantage over competitors – it’s not surprising that CIOs and IT directors rank ‘ operational agility ’ as a top driver for Cloud adoption. 2. Disaster recovery Ideally, businesses of all sizes shall invest in robust disaster recovery to secure their environment from certain disaster. If the application is on Cloud, disaster recovery is one of the option provided by the Cloud service provider. The company need not to worry about system downtime or business impact in case of disaster, because these factors are normally taken care of by the Cloud service provider. * Cloud application disaster recovery: Like Cloud applications, the disaster recovery option itself is also available now as a service on Cloud. Nowadays, companies implement Cloud-based backup and recovery solutions that save time, avoid large upfront investment and roll up third- party expertise as part of the deal. * Disaster recovery site and facility: A company may avail of

According to one study, "73% of knowledge workers collaborate with people in different time zones and regions at least monthly." When we make the move to Cloud computing, all files are stored centrally and everyone sees one version of the truth. Greater visibility means improved collaboration, which ultimately means better work and a healthier bottom-line. If we are still relying on the old way, it could be time to

try something a little more streamlined.

Suppliers take care of the maintenance of hardware and software for us and roll out regular software updates – including security updates – so we don’t have to worry about wasting time maintaining the system ourselves . This leaves us free to focus on the things that matter, such as growing our business. 4. Capital expenditure- free Cloud computing cuts out the high cost of hardware . We simply pay as we go and enjoy a subscription-based model that’s kind to our cash flow. Add to that the ease of setup and management and our huge IT project looks a lot friendlier. 5. Increased collaboration When our teams can access, edit and share documents anytime, from anywhere , they’re able to

Cloud computing is expected to gives us greater security when this happens. Because since our data is stored in the Cloud, we can access it no matter what happens to our machine. And we can even remotely wipe data from lost laptops so it doesn’t get into the wrong hands. 9. Competitiveness Moving to the Cloud is expected to give access to the latest technology, for everyone . It also normally allows smaller or medium businesses to act faster than big, established competitors. A Pay-as-you-go service and cloud business applications mean small outfits can run, while remaining lean and nimble. While the above points spell out the benefits of Cloud computing for our business, moving to the Cloud isn’t an entirely narcissistic act. When our Cloud needs vary, our server capacity scales up and down to fit. So, we only use the energy that we need and don’t leave oversized carbon footprints. 10. Environmentally friendly

Serious security vulnerabilities could affect the working of your laptop. (e.g. Active X Controls) • Software packages that permit the computer to be ‘remote controlled’ (e.g. PCanywhere) and ‘hacking tools’ (e.g. network sniffers and password crackers) are explicitly forbidden and prohibited on ABA-ITD laptops. 49.3.6 Unlicensed software • It is not recommended to install or use software specifically identified as 'freeware' or 'public domain software'. Shareware or trial packages must be deleted. • Individuals and companies are being prosecuted for infringing software copyright; do not risk bringing yourself and ABA-ITD into disrepute by breaking the law. 49.3.7 Inappropriate materials • ABA-ITD shall not tolerate inappropriate use of laptop for activities such as pornography, racism and storage of defamatory or harassing files, pictures, videos or email messages that might cause offense or embarrassment. • ABA employees shall never store, use, copy or circulate such material (pornography, racism and storage of defamatory or harassing files, pictures, videos or email messages) on the laptop and steer clear of dubious websites.

49. Computer Usage Policy 49.1 Objective The purpose of this policy is to maintain a standard computer environment and approved computer applications across the Group. Further, this policy shall ensure data protection and (prevent) unauthorized person(s) from accessing business sensitive information. 49.2 Scope The policy is applicable to all the computer systems connected with the ABA Network. 49.3 Policy 49.3.1 Standard Software Applications The standard list of software applications can be installed on ABA computers (excluding test computers). For the software list, please refer to the 'IT Technical List'. If any user wants to install an application not listed on the Standard list of software, the user must request ABA-ITD through the respective Division Manager. Such applications shall be installed upon approval from the IT Infrastructure Manager and IT General Manager. 49.3.2 Hardware and Systems All ABA hardware devices shall be used in compliance with restricted hardware and system settings. • ABA-ITD shall ensure that all computers are configured with a BIOS setting complex password. • ABA-ITD shall ensure activation of Screensaver Time-Out features with 10 minutes on resume and password protect (depends on the network password). • Windows common desktop screen across the

Group. • Default Windows games should be removed. 49.3.3 Computer Security • Local admin user access shall be restricted (users can operate the computer and save documents, but cannot install programs or change system settings). • ABA-ITD ensures that all laptops shall be configured with the security standard encryption tool. • All computers’ OS and standard applications installation shall be completed by ABA-ITD. • Only licensed software shall be installed in any ABA computer. • Any software downloaded from the Internet by the users shall not be loaded onto a computer. • All computers shall have an approved Anti- Virus software package installed. Users are not allowed to alter the configuration of this package unless permission has been obtained from Information Technology Division. If a virus is discovered, it needs to be informed to the Technical Services Team immediately. • All the computers shall be maintained by ABA-ITD only. • All personal computers shall not be allowed to work on our network. • If required, with management approvals, ABA-ITD shall create a temporary user credential for the employee responsible for the resigned user’s computer and give it to the requested user for accessing the computer data as per the management approval (no need, you can remove this bit as the same thing is said earlier in the sentence). • An ABA principle (or principal???) or partner’s company computers shall be allowed to work on our network if they agree to have their computers follow our 'Workstation standard

ABA Beverages holds special FORWARD workshop to initiate UAT

Supply Chain Planning, Manufacturing & Maintenance, Distribution and Finance. In the first process of Supply Chain Planning for the division, proper planning will be carried out for providing the resources that are needed to produce the beverages products. For example, determining the number of bottles needed according to the demand in the market during a specific time- frame. The second process of Manufacturing and Maintenance involves the bottling of the beverages products as well as the maintenance of the overall fleet machinery. The Distribution process will help in planning and handling the delivery cycle of manufactured products. During the whole production phase, Finance comes into the picture with transactions to and fro during most of the other processes. Implementation of these four processes will make their lives easier as it will automate all major daily operations . Around 150 test cases will be tested by 35 users who are expected to generate 500-1,000 transactions across these four processes. An equivalent of 2,600+ man hours is expected to be put in during this three weeks of UAT.

Ali Bin Ali Holding ’s FORWARD application has already gone live in 12 different divisions and is stabilizing at an impressive pace. Now, Beverages - one of the most important business divisions of the Group - is gearing up for the rollout early next year, and the team is taking all possible steps to make it foolproof. As the first step towards the implementation of the solution in ABA Beverages , the FORWARD team and consultation partner Intrasoft organized a one-day workshop on November 11, 2018. This will be followed by around three weeks of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) on the ABA Beverages premises. The workshop was led by the senior management of ABA Beverage s along with support from the ABA PMO team and Intrasoft. The main purpose of this workshop was to explain the methodology and the approach to UAT itself. The occasion was also used for communicating some directives to the Beverages staff, from Executive Project Sponsor Mr. Mohamad A. Ebrik, General Manager Mr. Marc Karam and the PMO in general. The

UAT will be an overall orientation explaining the whole ERP process before they Go Live in February 2019. Continuing with its long association with sporting activities, Ali Bin Ali Holding hosted the 16th edition of the ABA Cricket Tournament on November 15 and 16, 2018. The matches were held at the old Ideal Indian School Ground . Fourteen team s from across ABA Group, viz, Dohatna/Prime, IA/PCP, ABATS and ABA Logistics - two teams each, as well as Ali Bin Ali Partners (ABAP)-CAG, ABA-Head Office, FMCG, Al Danah, ABA Travels and ABA Luxury - one team each, participated in the latest edition of the tournament. The DLP site provides a full range of facilities across the total 499,181sqm of the site, these include; over 107,000sqm of warehousing space with specialized Frozen, Chilled and Chemical Stores, almost 80,000sqm of open yard storage, retail facilities and accommodation for up to 1,440 people. Previously an operating Division within the FMCG Stream, ABA Logistics is now a separate independent company within the Ali Bin Ali Holding and will utilize the facilities to develop future Logistics Services for other companies within Ali Bin Ali and to expand into the overall Qatar market as a Logistics Service Provider.

Team FORWARD wraps up 2018 on a high note

Ali Bin Ali Holding’s ERP FORWARD project gained special momentum from early 2018 and, in a fitting end to the year, the application went live in four different divisions of the company in December 2018. On December 8, the FORWARD solution went live at IA with the Inventory and Sales modules, followed by Finance a few days later. This was followed by the Ispot & SpotMe divisions, which went live on December 16. ABA’s Galeries Lafayette and Fashion division went live together on December 19 and were the last two divisions to go live in 2018. All the divisions worked in close co-operation with the FORWARD team to make sure that the FORWARD application went live as per schedule. In spite of their hectic workload, the teams put in their best effort to meet the target and the result was very rewarding . FORWARD Project sponsor Mr. Mohamad A. Ebrik was all praise for the dedication of the teams and said, “ I am really impressed with the level of commitment that the divisions have displayed. They have taken out extra time to co-operate with the FORWARD team and make the transition to the new system smooth. After the implementation, it will be a learning curve and I am sure that the FORWARD team will lend all their support to the divisions to eradicate any issue that may arise. ”

brought in from Europe to complete the beautiful graffiti filled mural, which clearly stands out, inspiring visitors to stop and take in its multiple messages. The colors were specially selected and flown down from Germany since the company recognized the need for the mural to sustain the weather conditions in Qatar and stay vibrant for the longest possible time.
