"HE has filled the hungry with GOOD THINGS" — LUKE 1:53 • The Lord has given us a wide field of service among the Jews — as wide as the Jewish dispersion among the nations, as deep as their spiritual and physical distress. Our Saviour has ap pointed us to the giving of the Gospel to these multitudes, the care for the hungry, the destitute, the widows and the orphans. O To face these people daily as we do is an experience which cannot be lightly dismissed or forgotten. The emaciated and undernourished chil dren are a special burden upon our hearts. We have seen the mothers and fathers sick with anxiety because they cannot provide their children's needs. It makes us feel guilty that we have been favored, with so much, when they have so little. • There is an even deeper need. We have witnessed the agony of soul of many in search of God's presence. His forgiveness and His love. Only Christ, the Bread of Life, can assuage their hunger. • From India, Israel, Eu rope, and from across our own American continent, the cry of God's people Israel grips our hearts. • A t this holiday season as we contemplate our Lord's abundant goodness to us, let us remember with love these brethren of our Lord in their hour of need. Help us bring Christ to them in all His saving power. • Your prayerful, loving, and thankful help is urgently needed. His "well done, good and faithful serv ant" will be your reward. Thirteen Is Peak Conversion Age

T o r e a c h our teenagers while it is still called day is the challenge that hits the hearts of those who love youth. Statistics tells us that thirteen is the peak conversion age and from that point on the odds begin to pile higher and higher with every passing year. The teenage of every person is but a small part of the whole life span, and yet it is by far the most important. Habits are formed that many times will control throughout the remainder of life. Decisions are made that form the course of life on earth and seal the eternal destiny of the soul. My! how important it is to reach these young people for Jesus. The youth worker in the junior high or high school department must work quickly for he finds that every three years there is a completely new group of young people. The task is great, but let me say that we have a great God that loves teenagers. Our respon sibility to youth is to lead them into a personal relationship with God through a living faith in Jesus Christ and then help them to grow day by day into the full measure and stature of Christ. First, to reach this fast changing field is impossible for you as an adult leader. You don’t have the contacts, you don’t talk the language. You and I are just outnumbered by the thou sands of junior and senior highers in our community. The only way the youth of America will ever be reached is through the personal lives and voices of Christian teenagers walking and talking on their school campuses for the Lord Jesus Christ. Secondly, The job of rooting and grounding the Christian young person in Christ is not always easy, but let

me suggest one basic approach that I feel is sadly lacking today. The great est problem that our Christian youth have today is relating their Christian experience to every day life. Too many times Sunday is church day, but Monday through Saturday are com pletely different and separate. They begin to think in a set way about church and the Christian life and that set way is usually a long way from the center of God’s will. This simple idea of helping youth to relate their Christian life to every day living can be done and must be done if we are ever going to reach our teenagers in time. Every Christian youth that names the name of Jesus must be con tinually encouraged to the task of reaching his campus for Christ. When this emphasis is placed upon his heart, and methods and helps are given to him that he may effectively accom plish this task, it will lead him to a place where his Bible study will be related to daily living and will be come an absolute necessity. His prayer life either will begin to throb with a reality that he has never known or he will develop a guilt consciousness and the Holy Spirit can convict him to a point of repentance and to a dedi cation to Jesus Christ and to obedience to His call to follow Him and to be come a fisher of men. The date life will be affected. The social life will be affected. The church experience will become a spiritual refreshment and his Sunday School will be a place of spiritual power. Jesus Christ must not only be taken into each heart as Saviour, but He must experimentally reign as Lord and be related to every area of our teenager’s daily life be fore our job is finished.
