This year, we will proudly offer horses that have been utilized in our beef cattle and security operations from across the great state of Texas. The TDCJ takes great pride in its livestock program and is known for consistently producing some of the highest quality animals in the industry. Buyer Registration- All buyers must register and receive a buyer number.
Elite Auctions act as agents only. All horses must go through sale ring. All payments will be made to Elite Auctions.
All horses in this auction have been vet checked sound, twice by Texas A&M veterinarians, within the last 60 days. All horses will be sold AS IS. We will not accept any post purchase vet checks for soundness issues. All known defects or issues will be announced while the horse is in the sale ring. All horses sell with no warranties, either expressed or implied, as to the merchantability of fitness for a particular purpose with respect to horses being sold at this auction. All buyers are encouraged to examine horses thoroughly prior to bidding. All questions should be asked before bidding. All horses in the sale will have current negative coggins. Health papers will be available at the new owner’s request and expense. All horses will be sold to the highest bidder. All disputes and challenges regarding bids or tie bids will be settled by the auctioneer and his decision on such matters will be final. Ownership and risk of loss passes to the buyer when the hammer drops. Immediately after the horse is sold, it will be the risk of the buyer.
Any announcements made by the auctioneer or the pedigree reader takes precedence over any printed description.
Payment - Payments accepted are cash, credit cards and checks. All checks must be accompanied by a current state issued photo ID; including name, address and phone number. In person debit/credit card payments will be charged a 3% credit card fee. If payment is taken over the phone, a 4% credit card fee is added due to manual entry. Check Out - After full payment has been received, the buyer will receive a receipt and a pink pass-out slip. The pass-out slip will be required to be given to auction staff at the time of load out. No horse will be released without a pink pass-out slip. All horses need to be removed from the Sonny Sikes Arena by 6pm on August 30 Transportation is the buyer’s responsibility. Horses cannot stay at the sale site, nor can they return to TDCJ. We have a list of haulers available that we recommend. All horses not removed by 6pm will be hauled to Midway, TX and stalled. An additional $100 per horse for hauling and $25 per day for feed, hay and turn out. For local hauling of 125 miles or less, from the arena, please get with the Elite Auction Staff. th

The 10-mare family is one of our older mare families that produces good foals. She is bred by Once Upon A Pepto from Texas A&M and is due to foal March 13, 2026. Stands approximately 14.3 hands.
