Sunshine List shines light on top earners

Chief Dan Parkinson, Fire Chief Richard McCullough and the city’s Chief Admin- istrative Officer, Norm Levac, are among some of the top earners in the area. Queen’s Park released its annual Sun- shine list last Friday, which revealed the top earners of public funds in Ontario. Also known as the Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act (1996) or the Sunshine Law, it requires

the provincial government to publish the names of public sector employees who earn $100,000 or more. The list includes employees of municipalities, school boards, hospitals and regional health units, univer- sities and colleges, Hydro One and Ontario Power Generation. This year, the names of over 50 munici- pal employees were present on the list. The names of members of the Cornwall Com- munity Police Service is also cited a number

of times as well as the city’s firefighting de- partment.. Names of employees of the Cornwall Community Hospital, the Eastern Ontario Health Unit, school boards and several oth- er provincially legislated organizations are also included on this list. Below is a premilinary list of some of the top earners. A more extensive list is avail- able on our website.
