salt of the earth.” Notice what happens when I put the salt, which represents the people who already know Jesus as ,their Saviour, into the glass. [Stir with a spoon.] The salt causes the egg to rise up to the red. God wants you and me to bring others to Christ for cleansing. This is what Philip did for Nathanael. He said, “ Come and see.” It was another Philip who was used to bring the Ethiopian to Christ. The angel could not tell Cornelius how to be saved. It was necessary that Peter should come and bring him to Jesus in order that he might be saved. All Christians should be the salt of the earth, bringing the unsaved to Christ. The Deceitfulness of Sin G enesis 3 :6 OBJECTS: Two small vials, about four inches long, one filled with clear oil and the other empty; a small amount of quicksilver, clear gasoline, gasoline dis colored with black water color, water, blue ink, and a red cloth a little wider than the vials.

I hold in my hand a glass of pure water. We will let it represent the world before sin entered. Adam and Eve were innocent until they partook of the forbidden fruit and be came sinful beings. Paul tells us in the fifth chapter of Ro mans that “ by one man sin en tered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” Every one is born

with a sinful nature, because he is a son of Adam. We will put a few drops of this ink in the water, showing how sin made the world unclean. Would you like to drink the water now? This is the way humanity looks to God today, unclean and sinful. Here is an ordinary egg. We will let it represent the individual in the world. Drop it into the water, and it will sink to the bottom. That is the way with every boy and girl. Unless the power of God keeps them, they will sink to the bottom in sin. Now I shall pour this red fluid into the glass. We will let it stand for the blood of Christ which cleanses from all sin. “ Without the shedding of blood is no remission.” It has been God’s plan all during history to cleanse from sin by blood. Before Jesus came and died, the blood of a lamb or some other animal was used. The Lord made coats o f skins for Adam and Eve and clothed them, which made it necessary that an animal should shed its blood. Cain was rejected by the Lord when he came to make his offering, because he refused to bring a sacrifice whose blood could be shed for his sin. We must have faith in the blood of Christ to cleanse from sin if we are to be saved. Now the egg is at the bottom of the glass and the red fluid at the top. How can we get the individual to Christ for cleansing ? I have here in my hand a cup which has salt in it. You will remember that Jesus said, “ Ye are the

T his little bottle will repre sent the individual boy or girl. While it is now empty, it will not stay empty very long. Hearts are the same way. Sin soon enters them, just as this clear fluid is poured into the bottle. [Add clear gasoline-] This does not look bad enough to be called sin, does it ? Many sins appear to be harmless when they are received into the heart, but they turn out

to be very harmful. Eve thought that the forbidden fruit was good for food, and something to be desired to make her wise. It did not look bad to her, but her taking it has brought untold sorrow to the human family. The devil always makes sin look as attractive as he can. Now notice how the color changes. [Add a few drops o f the discolored gasoline.] Not all people sin in the same way. Here is another fluid, of an entirely different kind from the first. [Add quicksilver.] It sinks to the bottom, not mixirjg with the first. Some people think that just because their sin is of a different color from some other person’s that they are much better. They would not think of stealing, but they will lie to get out of trouble. Others would not think of
