Balcones Resources’ board of directors elected Adam Ve- hik as President of theAustin,Texas-based corporation. In his new position,Vehik will lead the company in its continued growth following its acquisition of Sarasota, Florida-based Single Stream Recyclers (SSR). Balcones Resources is an environmental services company that is backed by Closed Loop Partners,which is a circular economy investment firm based in NewYork. Closed Loop Partners acquired a majori- ty stake in Balcones Resources in October 2019. Sonoco, Greif Increase Recycled Paperboard Prices Sonoco, Hartsville, South Carolina, implemented a $50 per ton price increase for all grades of URB in the United States and Canada,effective with shipments beginning November 16. According to Sonoco, longer backlogs at its mills along with continuing inflation of input costs, such as freight and paper- making chemicals, are the key drivers for the price increase. Additionally,Delaware,Ohio-based Greif Inc. is implement- ing a $50 per ton price increase for all grades of URB as well, effective with shipments on or after November 9.Ac- cording to Greif, cost pressures in transportation, insurance, labor and chemicals as well as supply-and-demand balance across Greif’s paperboard network are the main drivers for the price increase.
