will determine which views they fnd most useful. The Future of PMT Although PMT has dramatically enhanced users’ ability to plan, track, and improve their procurement pro- cess, the AMS team is resolute on delivering enhancements and remains tuned into its users’ needs or sugges- tions through change requests. Each participating Command has a representative on the Change Control Board (CCB) that reviews, approves or disapproves, and prioritizes any changes for future releases. The team also works closely with the procure- ment secretaries to incorporate reg- ulation changes and requirements. A classifed version of the application is in the works. Since this is government- owned software, confguration can be changed more rapidly; and funding is used for enhancements, not corporate profts.
The AMS team already is working on expanding the use of AI to draft documents and enhance application logic. They also are reviewing the potential for more application pro- gramming interfaces with established authoritative sources. The team con- tinues adding new organizations to the AMS family, including non-DoD agencies. This contributes to greater standardization, sharing of lessons learned/best practices, as well as inter-Command collaboration on con- tract actions. All of this means that PMT and the larger AMS ecosystem will continue to evolve and improve to meet the government’s ever-changing procure- ment needs.
