New Training and Resources From DAU DAU Communications
New tools and training are now available to help you in your job today. DAU’s new assets include two credentials, 28 courses, three new tools, and nine ACQuipedia articles. Registration for courses scheduled in Fiscal Year 2026 opened July 17. (Read more)

Enhancing National Defense Through Depot Maintenance DAU Communications
The Ofce of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Acquisi- tion updated Program Manager (PM) Practitioner and Ad- vanced certifcation requirements in a recent memo to Ser- vice Acquisition Executives. The memo builds on the 2022 DoD Instruction 5000.66, Defense Acquisition Workforce Education, Training, Experience, and Career Development Program, which “established policy to create a professional, agile and motivated military and civilian acquisition work- force ….” (Read more) DAU’s Field Training Teams (FTT) pilot programs are in full swing. This initiative puts DAU at the forefront of improv- ing DoD’s acquisition and sustainment capabilities. FTTs provide comprehensive support to program ofces, enhanc- ing their decision-making capabilities across a phase of the acquisition and sustainment life cycle. (Read more) Four Field Training Team Pilots Kick Of Alvin Lee The topic of software modernization is neither new nor narrow, said DAU Professor of Software Engineering John Eget during a recent DAU webinar. Most recently, DoD has identifed the Software Acquisition Pathway as a key factor in modernizing DoD software development, he explained. The old ways of doing business will not allow DoD to deploy software to control the current battlespace or respond to emerging threats. DoD needs modern tools for a modern environment, Eget said. Scott Holland, director of Maintenance Sustainment Policy in the Ofce of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Materiel Readiness, moderated a discussion about the importance of depot maintenance to national security. “Strategic sustainment planning is the backbone of mili- tary readiness at its core,” Holland said. “The depot source, repair process, and core logistics capability determinations are critical in shaping how military services maintain their weapon systems throughout their life cycle.” (Read more)
