Managanese catalysis and catalytic oscillator Syuzanna Harutyunyan University of Groningen, Netherlands
The research program in our group is aimed at the development of novel catalysis concepts. In the first part of the talk, I will present our recent work on manganese catalyzed activation of H−P bond and application in the catalytic preparation of chiral PP, PN, PNP ligands. I will further demonstrate how this reactivity of Mn-complexes can be beneficial to access enantiopure Z-alkenes bearing a tertiary allylic stereocenter and a reactive functional group. In the second part of the talk, I will introduce a novel concept of oscillating catalysis built on complex interactions within chemical reaction networks. We have designed small organic molecule oscillator that in addition to autonomous time keeping is also catalytically active towards another reaction and therefore allows the construction of time-controlled complex systems with intricate functions driven by autonomous periodic catalysis.
