Hot New Restaurants in 2019

Where to Dine This Summer Boston’s Best New Restaurants We probably don’t need to tell you that Boston has one of the best restaurant scenes in the country. Finding a great place to eat is never a problem, but it can be tough to keep up with all the incredible places opening on a weekly basis. To make your life a little easier, we want to highlight some of the new dining options that are poised to take the city by storm in the coming months.

THE WESTLAND 10 Westland Ave. Back Bay

It took years to bring to fruition, but the long- gestating The Westland, a “classic American tavern,” finally opened its doors earlier this year. Two Fat Baby alums helm the kitchen, spinning out steak frites, porchetta, and a burger that’s garnering rave reviews from diners and critics alike. The Westland isn’t poised to win any awards for originality, but their take on the classics is always a step above what you find at your corner pub.

SHORE LEAVE 11 William E Mullins Way Ink Block, South End

TONY & ELAINE’S 111 N Washington St. North End

A new tiki bar in the South End that’s bound to become a go-to summer hangout, Shore Leave tastefully combines kitsch and class. As you might suspect, the tropical-tinged cocktails are the main attraction here, but the food is far from an afterthought. In between sips of rum-based drinks, you can nosh on Filipino barbecue ribs, scallion pancakes, and tandoori fish collar. There’s also a secret sushi bar, cheekily dubbed No Relation, hidden inside the space.

This new North End hotspot doesn’t pretend for one second that they’re serving authentic Italian food. Instead, they specialize in the genuinely Italian-American, down to the checkered tablecloths and studded leather seats. The restaurant’s meatballs won an award before they even opened their doors, which lets you know the level they’re operating at. Come for the chicken parm and stay for the atmosphere straight out of your Italian grandma’s kitchen.
