Of water and the Spirit. 2. “Whosoever believeth.” II. The Cost of It (vs. 14-17). 1. To God — His only begotten Son. 2. T o man — mere belief. III. The Consequence of It (vs. 18-21). 1. The security of the believer — “ he cometh to the light.” 2. The condemnation of the rejector — “ he hateth the light.” PERSISTENT WOMEN 1. Delilah (Jud. 16:16). She wrought the downfall of a man of God. 2. The Shunammite (2 Ki. 4:30). She obtained the restoration of her dead child. 3. The Syrophonecian (Mk. 7:26). She received deliverance for her demon- possessed daughter. 4. The Sinner (Lk. 7:45). She received commendation for her love. IN CHRIST JESUS
