The final meeting before Four Days of Extraordinary in March sees Cheltenham Festival contenders lay down their mark on a highly competitive Festival Trials Day

FESTIVAL TRIALS DAY on Saturday 25th January sets the scene for racing’s greatest stage in March. Racegoers, trainers, jockeys and owners gather at the Home of Jump Racing for one final rehearsal before Four Days of Extraordinary racing at The Festival ™ presented by Magners. The atmosphere is full of anticipation, The Festival is within touching distance and this raceday never fails to whet the appetite for any sports fan.

Frodon and Bryony Frost stole the show in January 2019 when they drew clear up the Cheltenham Hill in the Cotswold Chase. The pair led from the start in testing conditions to go one better than 2/1 favourite, Elegant Escape, and put themselves in the frame as a contender for The Festival. The ever-poetic Bryony said of the win: “I say it all the time – he is a complete pleasure [to ride]. I’ve never ridden a

horse that has a heart like him and over the last two it is visible for everyone to see. You can see how brave and awesome he is. He is the most amazing person and when I call upon on him, he answers every time.” Festival Trials Day lived up to its billing with three winners from the day going on to win on Day Three of The Festival.
