Inaugural Clubs Tasmania Awards celebrate the heart of community clubs The inaugural Clubs Tasmania Awards was a huge success, with around 200 people gathering at the Tasmania Hockey Centre to celebrate the volunteers, clubs and individuals who make Tasmania’s community club sector so special. The awards attracted almost 200 nominations across 16 categories, highlighting the incredible dedication, passion and commitment shown by volunteers from every corner of the state. With representatives travelling from all regions of Tasmania, the evening showcased the strength and diversity of the community club sector. Clubs from a wide range of sports and community organisations were recognised, demonstrating that the awards truly celebrate the entire sector. Nominations were received from sailing, Australian football, soccer, cricket, basketball, golf, tennis, rugby, gymnastics, equestrian, table tennis, bowls, swimming and netball clubs and many other sports, along with community organisations
including Italian clubs, RSL and Ex-Services clubs, and gardening clubs. The evening was created to acknowledge the thousands of volunteers who generously give their time to ensure community clubs continue to thrive. Their efforts create opportunities for people of all ages to participate, connect and belong within their local communities.
