Open your box and find:
• Hex nut • Wood screw that fits the hex nut • Glue (strong adhesive) • Pen or pencil • Screwdriver
HOW TO REPLACE A LOST SHELF SUPPORT PEG WITH MATERIALS FOUND AT HOME
Step 1:ASSEMBLE THE HEX NUT AND SCREW Place a small amount of glue in the center of the hex nut. Thread the screw into the hex nut while the glue is still wet. Let the glue dry with the screw in place for a secure hold. Step 3: MARK THE CABINET On the cabinet where the peg was missing, just next to the original hole (either to the left or right), mark an “X” with your pen or pencil. Avoid using the existing hole, as it may be too loose to support weight. Step 4: INSTALL THE SCREW Align the tip of your glued screw with the “X” you marked, and use the screwdriver to drive it securely into the cabinet wall. Step 5: REPLACE THE SHELF Carefully place the shelf back onto its supports. AND THERE YOU HAVE IT! A sturdy, DIY fix that will keep your shelf steady and balanced.
