Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

The Science Behind HBOT: How It Works

HBOT is effective because of two fundamental gas laws:

01. Henry’s Law

The amount of gas that dissolves in a liquid is proportional to the pressure of that gas above the liquid. In HBOT, increased pressure causes more oxygen to dissolve into your bloodstream and tissues.

02. Boyle’s Law

At constant temperature, pressure and gas volume are inversely related. This principle explains how HBOT can reduce gas bubbles (like in decompression sickness) and how tissue oxygenation becomes more efficient under pressure.

Clinical Evidence

Studies have shown that HBOT can:

Increase stem cell mobilization (up to 8x baseline levels) Enhance angiogenesis (growth of new blood vessels) Improve neuroplasticity and brain repair Modulate chronic inflammation and oxidative stress Support mitochondrial function and ATP production Aid in tissue regeneration and wound healing

It is FDA-approved for 14 conditions and used off-label for over 120 indications including neurological, orthopedic, cardiovascular, and immune-related diseases.
